    Update. Again, thanks all for the comments. Dave760, just an FYI: I’m 70 years old. At the eight week mark I took my air cast off and I’ve been walking on it ever since. There is no limp and no pain to speak of. I am taking it easy though. One day at a time. Chris

    Thank you all for your kind wishes. The surgeon told me the full recovery would be six to twelve months and I might have a limp for the rest of my life. A small price to pay to still be alive.
