Celebration Contest: I Just Made Senior Member!

Lots of good guesses and so far, none that I wouldn't drink! I'll post a hint at the end of the day if no eligible participant has hit it yet.

Celebration Contest: I Just Made Senior Member!

Bad news first: This is only open to our US members (or those with a US shipping address). The first person to guess what my favorite beer is and post on this thread will receive a new tin of Capstan Blue! I check in a couple times a day and will post once we have a winner! Thank you all and...

    Empty Tobacco Cans

I reload ammo so I use the 100g paint can style cans to store bulk bullets. They're pretty heavy duty and save household ears from lots of swearing when those damn plastic bags tear and scatter $h!* everywhere.

    Deep cleaning

When covid first hit and we all got sent home to work I used down time to deep clean all my hobby things. 1st was s deep clean on all my rifles, then I moved to the everclear retort method on about 80 pipes. I also used that time to oxyclean/soak all the tarnished and or brown pipe stems. Once I...

    My Chicken Cordon Bleu

Nice lol. I'm thawing a chicken my new pellet smoker. Yep, after years of making fun of them, I'm now an owner.

Runaway Humidor Humidity and Mold on Cigars

Toss the cigar oasis and get the Boveda packages. They are better for regulating as they will expel and absorb humidity depending on their rating. As long as you have a reasonable air tight container, you shouldn't need anything else. I used to use the cigar oasis, but for Longterm storage it...

    C&D Folklore

I'm sure there's a story behind it. Se what I did there?

***What Are You Smoking, January 2022?***

NOT A CLUE! I've been transitioning my cellar from jars to mylar and in one of the moving boxes was a ziplock with an ounce or so of completely dried out something. I loaded it into a cob as I had some stuff outside to do. It tastes like some burley with a mild Lakeland topping. I'm not a huge...

Hugh Hefner's Favorite Recipe: Lamb Chops

I'm more interested in what desert was. I'm guessing he provided that as well :)

    Tobacconist in New Orleans?

I guess each family was issued a wolf, bear, or frog head humidor full of cigars for the trip. I'm just saying it's a pretty niche item to find in that quantity and condition. But hey, they could all be legit, not like a tourist centered antique market would do anything untoward :)

Remember the Smoking Car on Trains?

The only smoking on trains I ever saw was in the late 90's on the Eurorail Pass trains. This was pre-EU so we had to exchange currency every other day. Made for great souvenirs on a budget!

    Tobacconist in New Orleans?

Last time I was there, 3 years ago all of the antique shops seemed to have "antique" Black wood forest humidors.... seriously every single one had a few. I guess in the late 1850's the Germans must have just hammered out a couple thousand of them in the shapes of bear, wolf, and as i recall frog...

    Seeking Desktop Humidor Advice

Looks good, my only concern would be if it was exposed to direct sunlight. I have an old generic JR Cigars one that I leave a boveda in for "ready use" cigars. Everything else is in super high tech airtight temperature moderating storage units. Actually it's probably easier to just say Igloo...

    Enjoying my Pipe Again!

A member of the clergy who likes pipes and is serving in Margate? This man deserves to try some lol. I'll private message (PM) you.

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

Hell yes! Put a pound or two in the back of the cellar and forget about if for a decade!

Is Classic Petersen a System pipe?

I agree with Warren. Define classic then let the arguments begin lol. For me I'd think something that mimics or is their first pipe offerings. So i guess that would mean pre-system and pre- P-lip. Having said that, I like and smoke them all!

    Cornell & Diehl Pirate Kake

That should say either way and I can't edit it. Oops

    Tordenskjold Virginia Slices

Snowed in with a tin of Old Ironsides sounds like the beginning of an awesome ranch/western movie. I'm a big fan of snow and Old Ironsides.

    Cornell & Diehl Pirate Kake

I still get Pirate Kake and Black Frigate confused; they both get smoked in the same pipe so it's not a problem. Good stuff wither way.
