Is This Kaywoodie Worth Fixing or Passing On?

A Kaywoodie 500 is not, currently, a collectable or valuable pipe to most. What is the matter at hand, is what is it worth to you?

    Beware - Predatory Activity

It was via Venmo FF. I can't see who the person was that PM'd me once it was deleted.

    Beware - Predatory Activity

Noted, and thought of before. It wasn't a tremendous amount of money. Usually people here can be trusted, obviously this is the exception. The guy who PM'D deleted the thread, as I posted, so I can't see his name anymore. The guy who I corresponded with via email was listed in the original post.

    Beware - Predatory Activity

Just sharing my experience to help others: I posted a WTB/WTT for McClelland Tudor Castle. I received a PM pointing me to a guy who had it for sale. I corresponded with him via email at rodgerworker@gmail.com. Once the payment was sent to @nicole_bri3 via Venmo, I was told a tracking number...

    Cooking Chicken in NyQuil

    Exact what I thought.

The Sweetest Virginia (Flake) You've Had?

There so many sweet VAs. One aspect not mentioned, is I find the newer lemon VAs used in blends to be very tartly sweet, and to age very quickly. The lemon VA seems to have a massive amount of natural sugar in my experience, sometimes overly so.

    Favorite Oriental Forward Blend?

Keep an eye on KBV, he's put out great Oriental blends.

    Favorite Oriental Forward Blend?

Watch City Simply VOriental and Glass Slipper, Warped Red Hunt, Low Country Waccamaw, Sutliff TS24 thrown into everything. GL Pease Temple bar/regents flake, Cairo, Embarcadero. I'd recommend K&K blends in the past, but who knows what's in em these days. I also really like the addition of...

    Seen Today

Their population has spread and grown here in the west. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case all over.

***What Are You Smoking, Sept. 2022?***

How was it? Curious what you think as I know you're not much of a Latakia-phile

***What Are You Smoking, Sept. 2022?***

Some Sutliff Match Flying Dutchman (jarred with my lakelands and aged/ghosted beautifully). Pipe is a gorgeous sandblasted Peterson Newgrange Silver Spigot shape 127.

    Blends Like C&D Black Frigate?

Don't forget about Bagpipers Dream. I know it's flavored with Cognac but it tastes similar to the rum topping used by some manufacturers.

***What Are You Smoking, Sept. 2022?***

I hope one day Mark Ryan's joint is recognized for how special it was. Quality stuff. Lovely people. Gloria was a pleasure to order from. I have all the Rimboche blends, and some varietal components, as ordered directly, pressed into plugs and into long-term storage. It warms my heart, Jim, to...

***What Are You Smoking, Sept. 2022?***

I feel bad for being a stranger. I appreciate y'all. I'm smoking a giant bowl of aged Bosun Plug in a group 4+ new-era Kaywoodie Red Root Straight Billiard. Long Live Bill Feuerbach.

    Stilton

I won't side track this with inappropriate stories but you are definitely correct 💯 Also a good triple cream brie. And Drunken goat. If fact a good Charcuterie board on the first at-home date is as sure fire as sure fire gets. Don't forget the gherkins...😉

    Stilton

All this talk of cheese and port is unreasonably exciting to me. Made some Stilton-stuffed dates wrapped with prosciutto a couple weeks ago. Talk about a flavor bomb.

    Stilton

I've dipped my toes into at-home cheemaking and plan on cracking into the above soon. Stilton is good stuff. I like french blues (like Roquefort) too. There's a lot of good blue out there. Alot of Spanish cheeses are a great bang-for-the-buck option. Just had some homemade blue cheese salad...

I guess they are doing a CRF release this year

The flake in that pic looks different than my memory of the CRF of years prior, which is interesting. It's no surprise the release of CRF was kept tight-lipped. I'm sure with the fervor of it all it can be very exhausting working on the customer side of C&D.

    Esoterica Blends

"The company stated that it believes consumers have become more cautious due to macro-economic developments." Can't say I blame them. I don't know how I feel about a new distributor for the Esoterica brand. Unlike some other distributors of other brands, they've seemed to have gotten it into a...

    Esoterica Blends

This recurring thread topic used to really annoy me. But as time has gone on it's become really comical. "Can lead a horse to water...." And all that, and still buying Esoterica becomes some elite "sECrET iN tHE kNOw" thing. The method has been posted on this forum, by the same poster in this...
