Show Us Your Knife (And Pipe)

Initially I was after an automatic knife. My father had a great switchblade back when I was young, and I wanted something similar. I resorted to assisted open when I discovered that switchblades/automatics are very illegal in Minnesota.

Show Us Your Knife (And Pipe)

My other is a Gerber. I carry both around, and use the Gerber for boxes and things. Keep both sharp enough to cut paper. Smoking the last bowl of Stonehenge in a Hurlingham.

Show Us Your Knife (And Pipe)

I used to enjoy knives as a kid and recently decided to pick up some knives after realizing I was always carrying a cutter around for things at work and home. Anyway this is an assisted open CRKT and it's the nicest knife I've ever owned. Came sharp enough to shave your arm hair off, straight...

Is the cross logo on the stem original? Looks rather different than any Barling logo I've seen.

How to Stop Tobacco from Aging?

I read somewhere that you can sprinkle resveratrol on your tobacco to combat or even reverse aging.

Yes, the owner Andras Harm told me so. He says the USA is the biggest customer for Cubans.

    Chewable Plugs?

There's a little twist tobacco called Oliver Twist that's made in Denmark. It comes in several different flavors, many with liquorice flavor, but the Golden is pure tobacco taste with a little molasses I think. In any case, they're very very good. I bought several to keep around.

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

The text from the listing, which I quoted above, suggests the seller intended it to be an auction listing. I didn't contact the seller. I would have bought the lot at $50, but I wouldn't bid on it at auction.

I think they'll be relisting this. The "Buy It Now" was apparently a mistake. "Bid with confidence and enjoy the opportunity to own these exquisite smoking pipes."

I was only able to find a "snippet view" but it appears that the description of the gadget matches the brand "Perfeccion Pipe" on the case. And the 1909 above from @sablebrush52 would also fit according to the publication date on the snippet.

Deadman bought this set from Premal at Chicago. I don't recall the exact price but I'm sure he lost money on it.

    Is This Mold?

I'd smoke it. One thing that mold does: spread. That isn't what I'd call 'spreading'.

I Wrote a New Guide for Dating Stanwell Pipes

Congratulations! This is a great resource. And it reminds me that I too should get busy writing my own guide for Ben Wade pipes. One recommendation I'd make--a point of constructive criticism--is to try to include attribution and sources in your guide. I noticed there's a guide on MBSD to...
