The Difference in Colour of Aged Briar

While time does has a part in briar color, I find that the most important factor is the place of origin in terms of soil and briar mill processing. I can make pretty deep brown briar if I boil it on same pot and water with other 2-3 batches

    Weingott Billiard.

Well that may used to be a billiard, there is some heavy topping during the restoration and it's visible from the lighter color.

    Kyriazanos Pipes (Pic Heavy)

Yes I do take commissions, and actually I think it's the most fun part since I get to discuss a lot through the idea and concept that the smoker have in mind in order to get to a final design sketch. Smokingpipes, Smokers Haven and Blue room briars are my retailers in US.

    Microwaving Tobacco

I ve done it a few times when I get the feeling "I want to lid, now". But only fresh cutted rope and cake require it. With flakes I never had them so damp to need it

How Do You Store Your Pipes ?

I've saved a 7cm tall, wide drawer and purchased some organizers to keep each separated. It can accommodate all my "formal"pipes, while the ones I use in my workshop are usually everywhere... I've planned to make a wall cabinet out of proper hardwood to keep them all together and stored...

I must say that although there was a lot of effort to make it happen its real sad to seeing cancelled. Coming each year from Greece where there isn't any real pipe smoking community was always a pleasure to see old friends and make new ones. Let's make sure that nexts year show will be a great...

    Baccy Flaps -Any Interest?

I would love to have one made of quality plastic. Of course I prefer a wooden one, but for a limited production for more than 20 pieces I believe it will be a very hard task and also very variable.

    Kyriazanos Dublin

Thanks for posting this. I'm glad you like the pipe, the truth is although is a dublin-skater combination -an extra hint- I designed the pipe based on the front and back ends of the Greek traditional boats. Hope you enjoy it, Michail

    Gert Holbek Pickaxe (Pipe-Dan)

I'm so in love with most Holbek shapes. Always nice and almost penci shanks with the straight pipes and well balanced bent pipes with nice flow. Nice pipe, agressive look! wish you cool and tasty smokes.
