A Pipe Maker Story I Never Shared

I need to thank you for sharing this Daniel. I'm glad you enjoy the pipe now. I'm really happy you contacted me and didnt re-sell the pipe. Sometimes defective ebonite comes into our workshops and you can't tell the difference until the stem is finished or smoked. Thanks to everyone for your...

An Old Favorite Not a Favorite Anymore?

It happens sometimes. I had Best Brown Flake as one of my favorites, but now it became too sweet for my taste. Also there was a time when I smoked 2-3 days per week latakia blends and now it once per month.

    A Question For Carvers.

Exactly as Wayne said above. Smooth pipes require far more detailed work on finishing in order to have good look, stain and shiny look. And we have to make a lot of experiments to see how to achieve it. Blasts on the other hand are only require a few tries with 2-3 grits and pressure in order to...

    Greek Temptation (Michail Kyriazanos)

Well I can't be more happy when a fellow smoker finds a favorite pipe, especially if I've made it. I do the silverwork myself, both on bands or army mounts and spigots. Even now, after seeing so many great pipes in Chicago pipe show, those BBB you posted are truly amazing.

    Greek Temptation (Michail Kyriazanos)

Hello Al, I'm glad you enjoying one of my pipes. Thank you for your kind words. The inspiration for the shape was a pipe made by BBB in 1916 that I saw last year in Chicago pipe show. I wanted to bring the old charm of these early Rhodesians back into today's pipemaking. Michail

    Filtered vs. Non-Filtered pipes.

Unfiltered pipes are easier to clean. I used to smoke with 9mm filter, cause here in Greece, unfiltered pipes are not what smoke shops sell. Filter pipes create more moisture and are not as tasty as unfiltered.
