Red Dot on Stem?
nice. thanks the helpful info and the jokes! I was interested to know because it never seemed right. The pipe I was looking at was an orlik, well stamped, but it had this red dot stem. But I know that orlik has a white 'o' on the stem.- beef

Edited for capitals. See Rule 9! -jpm Does anyone know what maker used a red dot on their stems? Basically, just like Dunhill's white dot but red. The thing is that I've seen these stems on ebay and other kind of sites on pipes that shouldn't have a red dot as far as I know, like Orlik. Is...- beef

How to Prepare Flake Pipe Tobacco
I have difficulty knowing how much to use with fold and stuff. Today, I tried with PS navy flake. Went out alot, even after drying for an hour, but it seems like it was because it needed to be more tightly packed.- beef

I tried Davidoff flake medallions for the first time recently. The tin note was great, so I was excited. But all I got was hot air from it--absolutely no flavour. Has anyone else had this experience with DFM? I'll sit on it for a while and try again later. But there are better coins out...- beef

When is the vacuum seal broken?
This is a flake. Fribourg and Treyer Vintage in a circular tin. I have a few tins of the same blend and the contents don't shake nearly as much. I think this is what worried me. I take it that the solidity of the tin is a better sign of vacuum seal than anything else.- beef
