    "The Day The Clown Cried"

It bothered me that Lewis was so dismissive of his son's music career.

    Canadian Style Pro And Con

I agree that the Canadian with an oval shank and a short wide bit is a very comfortable shape, especially if, like me, you don't clench much. I have a Tinderbox "Old Bruyere" with a lovely warm orange contrast stain which always makes me think of autumn. I also have a Brebbia "Iceberg", oval...

    Any Port Drinkers?

I prefer ruby ports and if I could afford it, I would enjoy vintage ports from time to time. LBV (Late Bottled Vintage) are my affordable preference. I love a glass of port after a memorable meal. There's a great tradition of buying a case of vintage port when a son is born and giving to them...

Why Did I Start Smoking a Pipe?

My Dad smoked a pipe, though I cannot remember ever seeing him do so. He had an old tin that was labeled as custom blended for him which he used to store random screws and nails. I thought having your own blend sounded pretty cool. Then I started reading Sherlock Holmes and savoring the aroma...

    Butane quality

I've had several lighters get clogged when using Ronson or cheap butane. Never a problem since I switched to Colibri for my Old Boys and Xikar high altitude for my Xikars.

    G.L. Pease: Regents Flake

I found this slightly higher in nicotine than I prefer. Also, it needs to be puffed very slowly and then I would say I agree with the OP's take.

    Estate With "Burnt Wood Ghost"

Just my opinion. The heat fissures in the bowl are beyond salvage. Either widen the bowl or consider it a lost cause.

    Why?

That looks to be a very handsome Dunhill, with good grain, thick bowl walls and a well cut stem. I have little doubt that it might smoke better than either of your pipes. As to the price, if they dropped the initial $1000 on that I would be envious, since I can't justify even a $400 pipe. At...

    Eye Floaters

I've had floaters since middle school years, but they were never a problem. When I started getting arc shaped flashes and a dark spot in one eye, I went immediately to an ophthalmologist. She told me it was a vitreous detachment and also recommended against laser removal of the dark spot.

    House, Outside Or Both?

In the house and occasionally outside. I was smoking a pipe when we dated and after 50 plus years, I just light up 2 feet way from my wife or in my office. I don't smoke when we have company.

    Real Tobacco Blends vs Aromatics

Perhaps someone could educate Holmes about the evolution of flowering plants. Attracting pollinators was necessary. Our perception of their beauty and cultivating them to be more visually appealing came later.

    Real Tobacco Blends vs Aromatics

I've tried it. Definite chocolate flavor. Definitely weird. IMHO

Never been? Heck, I was born there.
