It's been on my new feed lately. I want to see it. Not for some sick reason. I mean it's about Holocaust. I have highest regards for Jewish people and what they have gone through, and still going through. But because of Jerry Lewis.

I was a big fan of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin while growing up. I couldn't understand why the part away. But I like them together and apart.

I understand French view Jerry Lewis as an acting genius. I mean no disrespect, but I only see him as a slapstick, physical comedian. I want to see his real acting.

I keep reading Jerry took the rough cut after the movie fell apart due to copy right and all. But more to do with his embarrassment of the film. Now it's at Library of Congress. Apparently, he told them it can be released long after he's dead.

It would be a memorable touch to his legacy. Or not.

They had some serious disagreements while working together and broke up. Many years later Martin showed up at one of Lewis' shows and they ended the feud.

Everybody makes mistakes. Interesting that at the time they thought Lewis quitting on Martin would effectively end his career. They overlooked the fact that Dino could sing very well. They both had tremendous careers after the break-up. Shame they waited so long to end it.

Likewise, I loved Jerry Lewis, when I was a child.
Dean Martin, not so much.

I obviously was a fan of slapstick, as my other favourites were The Three Stooges and Abbott and Castello 😁

It was only years later that I began to appreciate the humour of the Marx Brothers.

I appreciate Lewis but I just cant stand to watch it. The French are in love with him. I just never could stand it. that said, I did like Abbot and Castello. Three stooges not so much. I dont mind slapstick but when it becomes overly hyper and super noisy I turn it off.

I dont spend a lot of time worrying about the personal life of the famous (and especially not from athletes). We tend to look up to them but most often, their work requires them to be singularly focused and their position warps their perspective on life. A great number of them are very intelligent but not educated in a broad sense. I dont expect deep insights, I expect entertainment. Basically, in life they are screw ups just like us or worse.

Exactly, there are few "celebrities" that once you get close enough are worthy of respect or emulation. Most have feet of clay or worse.
