***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

It’s a crazy combo, like smoked salmon on a cheesecake 😬

I would have loved those in my pasta this evening. I’m gonna try and train WeeBay to sniff out truffles for the summer season.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

I just finished a huge bowl of carbonara with chestnut mushrooms, thinly sliced Serrano ham, chilli flakes and a lot of fresh ground mixed pepper corns. I’m uncomfortably stuffed and rounding it off with a Plymouth Gin and grapefruit and a Spanish Ducados cigarette (thank you John72 my friend 🙏)...

If I put a circle of string on the floor one of the cats inevitably goes and sits in the middle of it. They’re just weird that way.

Where Did the High End Kaywoodies Go?

The Straight Grain, I’m pretty sure this is a custom made as it’s a stingerless push tenon. I understand the Straight and Bullseye were available custom made to the individual smokers preference. They sold at at far higher price than Dunhill’s were going for in the US at the time. I brought this...

Where Did the High End Kaywoodies Go?

My two Centennial’s, I adore these pipes and will never part with them.

Where Did the High End Kaywoodies Go?

I picked up this Super Grain billiard on eBay and in the UK do it must have traveled from across the pond at some point. It came with the smallest Drinkless I’ve ever seen and the two were brought for the equivalent of $55. The Dublin below is a gift from my good friend, the little Drinkless is...

Where Did the High End Kaywoodies Go?

I have two Centennial’s, one Connoisseur and two Straight grain’s. One Straight is a London made and is very inferior to the US version that I have. The Centennial’s are two of the finest pipes I own, absolutely exquisite in quality and as smokers. The bulldog is a four hole but the billiard has...

I should also state that my US Straight was unsmoked when I got it so there’s no restoration involved. It’s quite an oddity

No it’s a US purchase, I have a London made Straight and it’s a very different pipe, the quality is nothing like this one and it’s a screw in with stinger. I think the London made K’s were just doing their own thing from what I’ve made out.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

Just got in from walking WeeBay with some Spark Plug that I forgot I had, in the lunting Civic Zulu. I’m having some Dalwhinnie Winters Gold single malt atm and contemplating something sweet to smoke with it, I’ve decided on Peterson 2019 special reserve, a Danish style mocha blend that’s very...

My Straight Grain is a push tenon but it’s not stepped like those mentioned from WWII, there’s no stinger either of evidence that it ever had one. It’s my belief is that it’s a custom model, I have seen in their catalogue’s that they were very open to making their higher end pipes like the...

***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

Just got in from walking WeeBay with Erinmore in a 1966 Jeantet Le President Jubilee edition and made myself another coffee. Solani 633 is up next in a Kaywoodie Connoisseur Dublin. Weebs is an adolescent now and boy does he act like one, he’s going through a whining phase which is...
