    Filter pipe or Radiator pipe?

I find that the carbon 9mm filters take out the "yuck" factor on some tobaccos, and the bite of wet aromatics. Peterson 9mm pipes are made with a decent grade of briar. I have found that the Big Ben filters work well and draw the easiest. Slower smoking and drying the tobacco is also good...

Bit new and I am wondering if I got a good deal or not

Those gourd Calabash pipes in good condition can be pricey. So even if all the others were only worth 10 bucks each, you made out pretty well. You will be amazed how well a gourd calabash smokes. I, too, have a Pioneer calabash, and I love the thing.

    MasterCraft stem disintegrated

I would contact Mike Myers at Walker Briar Repair. He has repaired and replaced a few stems for me, and is very reasonable.

    Fabrizio Romeo Pipes

Sally "The Pipe Tart" is a wonderful lady, who travels to all the pipe shows, and goes to meet the carvers before she sells their pipes. I met her at the New Orleans Pipe Show. I don't think she would sell anything that was junk. She told me about the carvers for a few of the pipes I already...

    Burley Negatives; Why Not Burley?

I can't smoke DFK. Makes me sick. But I loved Edgeworth, Burley London Blend, and still love Solani Aged Burley Flake. Feels like some TAD coming on.

How many pipes do you need?

I smoke about 5 bowls a day. I like a fresh pipe, so 5 pipes would probably be enough. Except that I like to smoke while I am cleaning them, so a good rotation would be six. I have 114 of the things, lol. Overall, I have probably owned more than 150, over 40 years. Lost a couple, gave a number...

    Stonehenge Arrived!

I am so jealous. Been at sea for two weeks, and I can't get home to try my tins for another 18 days. Does Jiminks have a review on Stonehenge Flake?

Any Pipe Brands You Avoid, and Why?

Butz Choquin. They only one I have is heavily lacquered, and when I got in 1981 I was still a newbie, and hot wet pipes were an every day occurrence for me. I still have that thing, and still to this day I won't smoke it unless it is cold outside. It smokes fine when the ambient air temp is...

Aging Blends As A Bad Habit

All the time. I have 147 tins of different things. I am a sucker for the next "big thing", and after the last few years have 47 blends I haven't tried yet, and tins I bought that I like that have been sitting around over 2-10 years. Add to that tobacco that I get gifted, and trades, and then...
