*** What Are You Smoking?*** (October 2016)

The pipes in my rotation are my Peterson Grafton 999 Rhodesian, Peterson St. Patrick's Day 2009 150 Bulldog, Rattray's Craggy Root 60 bent pot, Smoker's Haven Oom Paul by Savinelli, and my 4th Generation 1931 bent Brandy. Out at sea, for the moment.

Would this be an 'OK' starter pipe?

Something to think about, for the newbies out there, is that your first pipe may not be the best. The less expensive pipes do need some break in time to smoke best. Usually, anywhere from ten to twenty bowls for the worst. Plus, if it has a bowl coating, it might taste funny for the first few...

Mine are rusticated. I actually prefer the Mark Twain pipe. The poker doesn't impress me.

    Moonshine Pipes - Your Experience?

I purchased a Blue Collar Devil Anse when he offered a free pipe with any purchase. He sent me a Blue Collar Dublin, his choice, but that was ok. Both are really good smoking pipes, and he shipped really fast, can't say there was any problems at all. I like the pipes enough to recommend them.

    Xikar Pipe Lighters?

I have a Xikar Pipeline Lighter. It works, mostly. First, it wasn't easy to light until I replaced the flint with a zippo branded flint. Second, every 10th light or so, I have to take a pair of tweezers and turn the valve back to facing the wheel. It stays charged about 2 days, maybe two...
