    Tobacconist in Amsterdam?

Thanks for the links. Maybe if I make to Amsterdam myself one day I'll pop in!

    Tobacconist in Amsterdam?

I have a friend traveling to Amsterdam in a few weeks and I'm writing to ask if anyone knows of any pipe tobacco shops there that carry blends that are hard to find here in the states, and if so, what blends would you recommend? My friend offered to pick up a couple of tins for me. Thanks very much.

    Petersons!

Arrived today. The latest addition to my ever growing clan of Petes. A beautifully grained 338 spigot.

    Smokingpipes Spoiled Me

I don't think Al Pascia uses photoshop to hide fills in their pipes. The fact that they also post videos of their pipes for sale shows that they are truly representing the product as you will receive it upon purchase. I do find them to be pricier all around on their products though. Still, it's...

    Smokingpipes Spoiled Me

They sure do have an interesting approach to running a business. I've just stopped visiting their site.

    Smokingpipes Spoiled Me

They really set the standard for customer experience. Most pipe smokers I know are quite discerning and SP's understanding of their customer base and the effort they put in to cater to this audience puts them ahead of other retailers.

    Smokingpipes Spoiled Me

Tobaccopipes offers incredible customer service and they are my next choice when it comes to tobacco. A few months back I was considering buying a pipe from them and wrote to them asking if the pipe featured in the listing was available. They replied saying that it was not but they did send me...

    Smokingpipes Spoiled Me

Besides the great customer service that Smokingpipes offers, the fact that they take the time to photograph and present each individual pipe they have for sale has completely spoiled me for all other online retailers. As a graphic designer, aesthetics are very important to me and I greatly...

The Story of My "Three Wise Men" Home Blend Disaster

Good for you for trying. I chase that incense note in tobacco blends and do find it from time to time in ones that contain latakia and orientals. I applaud your effort. How much of it did you make? As @Ahi Ka suggested above, perhaps you can use your concoction in small doses to a larger blend...

    Hi from Ireland!!

Haven't been there but my wife has family in Clare. Visited there many times. Are you able to find a good selection of tobacco near you?

    GH Kendal House, Initial Impressions

I know the feeling. Gave my first pouch of it away and now it's a go-to blend for me. I used to blend it with Amphora's Kentucky because I first found it lacking in depth and strength. I've since learned to appreciate all its subtleties.

    Hello From NYC

Greetings from Brooklyn! I'm also a Queens native. Still think the best food in NYC can be found there. Moved to BK over 20 years ago. Welcome!

    Cedar Flavor?

I detect a distinct cedar note in Bob's Chocolate Flake that I really enjoy. I find it quite unique and appreciate you posting this question as I'm also on the hunt for other blends that offer this flavor.

    Albino Squirrel

Great image captures! I was at Oberlin College, who's mascot is an albino squirrel, a few weeks back and was lucky to spot one on campus. Really cool to see them 'in person'.

    Handling Moisture?

Drying out your tobacco will certainly help a bit. If my pipe starts to gurgle and I don't have a cleaner handy I put my thumb over the bowl and give the pipe a short quick flick with my wrist, stem pointed outward. This works to fling any moisture out of the pipe when you're in a jam.

    B&Ms in Cleveland, OH?

Thanks for the tip! I looked at their site and there's a photo of a wall of pipes that made me drool. I'm not much for fishing but I do hope to visit and maybe pick up a piece to add to my collection. Good advice on asking about what they have 'behind the counter'. I used this ploy to score a...
