Like cosmic says...they are the little funky treats that spice up the blend. In general, I think the blending houses are stuck with what is out there for supply these days. In general Latakia mixes have had notably more shake n' sticks the last couple years from every blendor I've come...- jerseysam

I'll second Hoosier here; I complete the pipe-shame triple crown of being an aromatic/Lakeland smoker, a Latakia smoker, and a full convert to the ?water flush ?.
