How I Restore and Refinish Grabow Color Pipes

Hey Folks, I joined this forum a few weeks ago when I posted some before and after pics of a yellow Dr. Grabow Viscount on the "What's under that Grabow" thread... http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/whats-under-that-grabow/page/2 A couple folks asked for more info on how I restore these...

    Straight Peterson System Pipes

Back to my original question. Are there different models and sizes or is a Peterson 31 THE straight system pipe? Thanks Jensen for the info so far.

    Straight Peterson System Pipes

Jay, I think there is such a thing. There are a few websites around that talk about them. There were two on eBay a couple weeks ago so I thought they must be pretty common, but I haven't seen any since. Here are a couple pics I just pulled off Google images... Anyone have more info on these?

    Straight Peterson System Pipes

I think I would like to have one of these pipes but I know nothing about them. Can y'all tell me anything about sizes, model names and numbers, etc? Does anyone have pictures they could share?

    Need Help with Glued Tenon!!

How did this turn out? I also have done what Nevada suggested. Drilled it out and fit a delrin tube in place for a push type tenon.

    Lifestyle?!!

I think that deathmetal sums it up well. I also agree with others have said about the term being a marketing ploy. It sounds cliche to me.

    Remembering the Titanic

This is all very interesting stuff. Remembering the Titanic has led me to remember something I was told and believed all of my life that I now am realizing may not be true. When I was a child there was an old man who lived down the street from me who I was told had a ticket to board the ship but...

Fictitious Estate Pipe Back Stories - a Creative Challenge

^ Hey, you have the same name as my wife's maiden name. You are not her delinquent brother that dropped out of school after "the incident" and disappeared are you?

Fictitious Estate Pipe Back Stories - a Creative Challenge

I was disappointed to see that this was a thread for fictitious stories. My first estate pipe, my first pipe ever as a matter of fact, is a 1929 Dunhill bruyere finish. I am the second owner of this pipe and I actually met the original owner. And talked to him. Well, sort of. I rather talked at...

    Buying Pipes from Oversesas

Hi Folks, Has anyone in the U.S. ever bought a pipe from the U.K, Italy, etc? I have sometimes been tempted to bid on a pipe on eBay but then got frightened off by the unknown customs and shipping and all that. Anyone have any experiences there?

    Restoring a White Continental

Hey Folks. For those of you who thought I was restoring a car, I apologize for the passive deception, but how many people would really click on it if I added Dr. Grabow to the title? When I first started this project I didn't know if it was going to be a cleanup or a full-on restoration, meaning...

    Restoring a White Continental

Focused on cleanup of the stem, shank, and inside of bowl this evening. The pile of Q-Tips and pipe cleaners was just too gross to photograph but this stinger kind of gives you an idea of what I was up against. And boy, the stem is not giving up it's oxidation easily.

    Restoring a White Continental

Thanks to the generosity of another member, I am now the proud owner of a white Dr. Grabow Viscount Continental. I'm a big fan of the color pipes from Dr. Grabow, and the Continental is probably my favorite shape, so you can imagine how excited I was to get this pipe. It's discolored after 40 or...
