    My first Castello

I smoked my new Castello on the patio this morning with a bowl of Sutliff Virginia slices. As far as the pipe, you get what you pay for. I'm very happy with it. Very light and balanced, and I like the acrylic stem.

    My first Castello

Ok, the mailman brought my first new Castello today. What a beauty! Its basically a rusticated billiard. There is finely stamped nomenclature on the bottom. I got my son to take a photo on his iPhone and he emailed it to me. This is a day old MacBook and it may take me a while to manage the...

    My first Castello

So, I've been smoking a pipe since 1970. I don't buy a new pipe every year. I may go two or three years without a buying one. But I got the Castello bug this week. I just ordered my second one since Sunday. I'll post photographs when they come. Can't wait.

Are You a Pipe Smoker or a Pipe Collector?

Smoker with modest collection. I have to take a break from smoking occasionally due to allergies.

    Kaywoodies

The two I have smoke cool, which I like, which is why I smoke a few Dunhill shell billiards. I agree the Kaywoodies are a fine American made bargain. The Pipe Den in Vero Beach has a good selection of new and estate pipes. I’m buying one a week. Starting at thirty dollars.

    Kaywoodies

First of all, let me say I’m still trying to figure out how to post pictures on here. I’m using an iPad right now. I just purchased two Kaywoodies at the local B and M. One is an estate billiard with carburetor. The other is an unsmoked skater with metal insert in stem. Experts may give more...

Will Pipe Smoking Ever be Mainstream Again?

I was talking to a college instructor at the local well stocked pipe shop about two weeks ago. He was picking up a new pipe. He told me many of his students were buying lesser priced pipes and tobacco. It was cheaper to smoke a pipe than cigarettes or cigars and his students were seeking advice...
