Welcome from Burque. The place people from Santa Fe come to catch flights.
Loved The Shed! Last time I was in Santa Fé we visited Meow Wolf and there's a diner nearby that looks like any standard chain diner from the outside, but which delivers really outstanding New Mexican cooking. I beiieve it's on Cerillos Road, right where Meow Wolf is.Yup. That and The Shed, and a few much fancier places. Some of the small spots, some in strip malls, could be fantastic, but I forget their names, and I bet most are gone anyway.
The mention of sopapillas here recently has relit a fire for such, and I will seek same out where I am.
Or just have some entertainment other then museums and art, (I don't mind the throwing hands parts either). But back in my day it was Pecos I had the most fights. People from burque always been cool. Wife's from Spana so no issues there.Welcome from Burque. The place people from Santa Fe come to catch flights.
I think it might be Tortilla Flats or El Comal both awsome places to eat for authentic New Mexican. But there are some many little holes in the wall around that part of town I could be way off lol.Loved The Shed! I have thought New Mexico would be a wonderful place for when I retire….. warmth!!!! What is the pipe and pipe tobacco brick & mortar situation like in New Mexico these days? Anything noteworthy?Hello fellow pipe puffers. Im from the city different in New Mexico (if you know, you Know). Not necessarily new persay but been lurkin for a couple years now. Been smoking pipe for a few years now and recently had a question about Castellos, and a couple fine Gents were kind enough to reply. So I want to say thanks for that. I like "smoking" doesn't matter what. Cobs to dunhills as long as I can enjoy my backy I'm a happy camper. KEEP UM PUFFIN. AND GOOD DAY
Santa Fé had a very nice B&M when I was last there. I hope it's still there.I have thought New Mexico would be a wonderful place for when I retire….. warmth!!!! What is the pipe and pipe tobacco brick & mortar situation like in New Mexico these days? Anything noteworthy?
We have 3 places that sell bulk, Lane, Match, and C&D. Primo Cigars, and a small shop right off the plaza with a little lounge (cant think of the name). But it's mostly basket pipes but really nice meerschaums. The best of all 3 is Staggs tobbaconist. It was once located in the D' Vargas mall but now it's on Cerillos rd in the middle of town.Santa Fé had a very nice B&M when I was last there. I hope it's still there.
Staggs sounds like the store I visited some years back. I bought a pound of an English blend called Physicist in honor of the Manhattan Project, which had its offices in Santa Fé before moving to Los Alamos. We have 3 places that sell bulk, Lane, Match, and C&D. They have really good house blends named, Santa Fe #1 - #5. #5 is like a way better lane 1q. And then "Hobbits Friend" for us Tolkien guys or gals is just a really great aromatic I can send some samples of. The C&D stuff is the norm OJK, Bayou Morning etc. They sold tins forever of alot of great brands but recently remodeled and the owner expressed to me the profit margins on tins isnt what they were and are only gonna sell bulk.
I can't complain because it started at tins for 30% and then 60% off, my celler grew exponentially. The briar and meerschaum pipes here are wonderful jacopos, caminetto, Ashton, etc and then baskets of course i dont mind paying a slight markup to see and touch a pipe before i buy it. But if you partake in a good Ole Cee'gar every now and then Santa Fe is the place to be.
Wow that's pretty awsome. I have a few family members who worked there during that time (way before my time lol) sound like it was a wild time to be alive. I think I was ment to be born in those days ?Staggs sounds like the store I visited some years back. My brother was a theoretical physicist who was a project leader at the labs.
