    Changes in GH twists

No. Same supplier of "sauce components", same ingredients, same processes, same blenders, same machines....... Same methods as always - GH slightly different saucing method to SG as has always been the case. And will continue to be so....

    Changes in GH twists

The replies are the same as I have always given. Just stating the facts. Maybe it depends what questions you ask or comments you make and whether you opt to accept those facts or argue against them constantly. And now I just choose to mostly ignore those that make the same comments and argue...

    Changes in GH twists

SOCIAL MEDIA - we have several social media accounts that I personally run. Again I would point out we are a VERY small company. There are just 30 or so of us for the whole of management, sales team, office and admin, production, packing and dispatch, import and export and finance. We all wear...

    Changes in GH twists

"Please keep in mind that customers like myself might buy your blends in waves due to market unpredictability." Unfortunately cellaring like this and others hoarding skews the market. Buying a blend regularly and consistently shows it sells well.

    Changes in GH twists

Absolutely not and there is no way we could ever compete with the 'big boys', nor would we want to. We still have something like 150 different blends. We are of course always trying to increase production to keep up with demand and new markets. Indeed its one of the constant gripes on this and...

    Changes in GH twists

Blends are discontinued usually because they do not sell enough and are not worth making. And then of course a while later when no longer available everyone suddenly wants it!! Or occasionally because a certain leaf type etc can't be sourced any more. We don't discontinue blends that sell well...

    Changes in GH twists

Grasmere you can have if Laudisi order it. Coconut twist we don't produce any more. Kendal Dark Vanilla I have never known us do but maybe many years ago. We don't tend to flavour Kendal Dark due to its strength overpowering any flavour. Its mostly Kendal Gold and Mixed that can have flavours.

    Changes in GH twists

The facts are these - we are using the same twist machines and presses, these are 150 to 200 years old. The cooking side has changed a bit over the years as steam jacket presses became electric hydraulic presses and as the machinery has to be repaired/renewed. Of course staff do retire. But we...

GH&Co Brown Irish #4 Rope --- Love the New Package Method/Coil Size

No. They used to be sold so shops could display them but that is pretty much outlawed now in all but the very few specialists. Plus with the duty/taxes here a kg of twist is pretty damn expensive. We have not done them for a while.

GH&Co Brown Irish #4 Rope --- Love the New Package Method/Coil Size

The Saracen was the old way that a tobacconist was advertised in the UK in the 17th and 18th century. The original Saracen was mounted on the wall outside the old factory and is a symbol well known through out Kendal. He has always been depicted on the twist packaging. The artwork on the GH...

GH&Co Brown Irish #4 Rope --- Love the New Package Method/Coil Size

Maybe the 'non reply' was because they were in bed!!! Your response was posted at 2am my time. Both Samuel Gawith Brown No4 and Gawith Hoggarth Brown Irish X are sold.

GH&Co Brown Irish #4 Rope --- Love the New Package Method/Coil Size

Yes but this is Gawith Hoggarth Brown Irish X as it states on the box.

    Seeking UK Tobacco Recommendations

Nothing going on! We don't have a Swiss distributor so not a case of anyone going out of stock, we just don't sell to there. The former Swiss distributor refused to pay invoices for product received and so there is ongoing debt collection. Distribution to Ireland, even northern Ireland is...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Ugh what is that awful sticker placed right over the branding!!!! No No No!!!!
  15. gawithhoggarth

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Yes of course, labelling is only going to get more stringent, not less. But every country has their own regulations. Some countries are 40% coverage, some are 85% coverage with health warnings. Some have pictorial combined warnings, some are just text. Some have warnings on the front and back...

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Sorry I do not understand what you are wanting to know? We design and produce all our own labels inline with each country we sell to and the requirements for that country.
  17. gawithhoggarth

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

The images are supplied by the government authorities for each country. Everything is strictly stipulated from the percentage of the front face it must cover, to the font and size of the text, the language for each face, how thick the border is around the warning, how often images rotate etc.
  18. gawithhoggarth

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

Every country has different labelling requirements, even within Europe so we have to do labels specifically for each country. And then regulations change or the labels have to rotate.

Opened a Jar of 2019 Dark Bird's Eye

Again! Kendal Kentucky was discontinued a few years back. the USA distributor bought our remaining supply so maybe still has old stock. But it had essentially due to leaf changes and availability morphed into Kendal Dark. DBE no longer had the birds eye stalk bits in it so we opted to stop...

Discontinued quite a while ago now.
