New (to me) Scotti-era Castello Collection KKK Bent Billiard

I'll see if I can find a photo of this rebore, but it was pretty shocking. I took one draw through the pipe when it arrived and knew something was wrong. There was little, if any, resistance.

New (to me) Scotti-era Castello Collection KKK Bent Billiard

Ah, apologies, just saw this. Ended up returning the delightful Castello when I found that someone had attempted to clumsily rebore the airway. Took the money to Tabaccheria Corti instead and bought myself a Natural Vergin Sea Rock Canadian!

***What Are You Smoking? March 2020***

A ways down this bowl of Dunhill Nightcap in this large Jacono Jack. Truly one of my favourite pipes and I got it for a steal during the summer. I wonder why Jacono isn't talked about more often here. The engineering on this piece is spot on and the briar is near perfect. If you think the...

***What Are You Smoking? March 2020***

Ending my day with some pre-dinner Star of the East Flake in my Castello 2K Canadian. This stuff really scratches my Penzance itch.

    Dunhill History (Late 60s - Early 2000s)

Man, this page has grown to about twice or three times the size since I last read it. Thanks for the heads up!

    Dunhill History (Late 60s - Early 2000s)

Hello all, I've noticed in my perusing of Dunhill pipes and their history that there seems to be a fairly significant blackspot when it comes to the legacy of the company after the glory days of the 60s. To my understanding, Dunhill switched factories at the end of the 60s and now the market...

***What Are You Smoking? March 2020***

Life's good when you can enjoy some 2017 CC in a Castello 55. Truly some of the best Red VA I've ever had.

    Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake

At 7 years old you can say with some certainty that the tobacco underwent anaerobic fermentation inside the sealed tin.

    Show Us Your Penzance Pipe!

I use my Castello Natural Vergin KK Canadian for 'English Flakes.' I think in this photo there's actually some Penzance in the chamber.

    What's Your White Whale?

All of this is readily available in Britain and I'm more than willing to ship a couple of ounces of each blend over pro-bono.

    What's Your White Whale?

This should be seen by the guys newer to the hobby. In this day and age where blends are dropping off the market like flies and where the FDA lurks behind every deeming date, cellar something deep if you like it!

Advice Needed: Moving Aged 5100 to Jars

That's a hell of a find. I remember reading something from Greg Pease wherein he said that once you break the seal, the environment inside the container changes irreversibly. If the seal seems to be holding up (and it sounds like it has over the past 11 years), I wouldn't touch it unless you...

    Hello from Central London.

Welcome from (presumably) a short distance away! I'm in central London as well and have been for the last couple of years. Have you been down to the Pipe Club of London yet?

***What Are You Smoking? February 2020.***

The IPSD smoke! Some 2017 Dunhill Nightcap in the Castello KK NV Canadian and some Mitcher's Single Barrel 10 year in the whiskey glass. Happy smokes to all! (Edit: and what better way is there to celebrate ISPD than becoming a Junior member of Pipesmag?!)

***What Are You Smoking? February 2020.***

Planning to smoke some Nightcap with a glass of Mitcher's Single Barrel 10yr tonight to celebrate IPSD. I'll post a photo when the time comes!

    International Shopping for Pipes

Times really vary for International Super Saver packages. I had several packages delivered to me in Hong Kong that took only a week and a half to arrive, but another that was delivered to Singapore more than a month after I ordered it. Just be prepared to wait. Additionally, if you order...

***What Are You Smoking? February 2020.***

I'm at the grandparent's house in Ireland for the week and they have a nice smoking conservatory! Enjoyed a bowl of Germain's 1820 Flake last night in my Castello KK Natural Vergin Canadian.

If I Knew Then What I Know Now...

Pipes and Cigars has a real bad reputation for being one of the more disorganised and feckless online retailers. Things will often take days to ship, or not ship at all. If you're really lucky, you'll get your order and then they'll send a free-of-charge duplicate a week later. Their customer...

If I Knew Then What I Know Now...

I wish I had cellared more Durbar when I knew both that it was my favourite and that the Dunhill blends were on their way out.
