I just took delivery of one of these yesterday. It's a very good little kit, exactly as shown. You get one test tube, but TWO stoppers with hi-temp rubber hose, and those are the parts that making your own retort so frustrating. See, most of these parts are only available in lots of ten or...

Is this Pipe Cool or Silly?

That sort of thing pops up from time to time, sometimes expensive, sometimes embarrassingly cheap. I got a bull's head sorta like that for 99cents plus shipping, hand carved in Italy. I think there's a nice bent bulldog hiding in there, and might try to coax it out someday. Figural pipes are...

How to wax to get the shine?

Cortez is right. Sand that baby down until it shines before you go to the wheel. I use Micromesh all the way up to 12000, being careful near the stampings. Try it once, and you'll do it on all your pipes.

    MM tenon diameter

The filtered pipes have a larger diameter than the non-filtered. But within those distinctions, the hole should be a uniform size, due to the machine manufacturing process. FWIW, a Forever Stem will always fit a new, unused MM filtered cob. I don't work for 'em, just use the products.

Removing Dents and Dings from Wood

That Beatle wig sold for $10 back in '64. Probably priceless now. Has to be a Beatle, 'cause Moe Howard never licensed a wig. (Obviously, this man is somebody's friend and grandfather, so I don't want to be mean. But... just damn!)
