    Al Pascià Curvy

Yes, when the overall length is reduced down to 4.5, it makes a big difference in how much weight you feel when clenching. I have a few nosewarmers in the 4 inch range, and an extra 10 to 25 grams of weight isn't as much an issue, as with a 5 to 6 inch overall length pipe.

Tongue bite - which is it?

There are two types of tongue bite, chemical bite and steam bite. Chemical bite comes from the casings and toppings used in pipe tobacco. If you smoke cigars, you will notice you never experience this bite, because those casings and toppings are not used in cigar production. Steam bite comes from...

Pigskin pipes: wether to be bare or some leather

I have a little leather clad Jeantet billiard that I smoke Christmas Cheer in, that is just fantastic. I paid around $40 for it unsmoked. I am guessing that it was manufactured during the 60's, maybe 70's. Also, the stem work on the pipe is really sweet considering it is a factory pipe. Having...

Do you dedicate a pipe to each tobacco style?

I tend to dedicate specific pipes to Virginia blends, but I am not as particular about dedicating a specific pipe to a specific Latakia blend. In my Lat pipes, I tend to smoke a variety of blends. Also, I have an Olivewood pipe I have dedicated to McClelland Drama Reserve. Keep in mind, when you...

My Mouth Should Be Duck Taped

Latakia is actually pronounced Luh-tack-ee-uh, but I prefer to pronounce it Lat-uh-kee-uh as well.

    Smoking while driving ?

I smoke in my truck, but not while driving. I used to, but I found that the driving aspect was distracting me from enjoying the pipe. In other words, I was just going through the motions, but not enjoying the pipe as much as smoking while parked, and next thing you know my bowl was empty. I only...

    Marriage + PAD + TAD

Assume the role of the alpha male. Buy her 3 pair of shoes for every pipe you purchase. Also, you will need to have s few places to stash new pipes, when you make a pipe purchase that was so steep, there was no money left for shoes.

    Blowing back into the pipe?

Lightly exhaling back thru the pipe, is one way to control the burn rate. I like to smoke small lightweight pipes, which tend to heat up a little quicker than a heavier pipe. Exhaling back thru the pipe can allow me to keep smoking, rather than setting the pipe down to cool off.

Number of bowls vs resting time

I only smoke 1 bowl, then rest the pipe for at least 48 hours.
