Mac Baren Navy Flake - Pipe Tobacco Review

Navy Flake is one of my favorites! I love the natural tobacco taste, the slight nuttiness from the burley, the sweetness from both the cavendish and the slight taste of rum. It definitely earns a rightful spot in by tobacco cellar!

Romeo y Julieta 1875 mini cigars

I know this is a pipe forum, but I am sure we have a few cigar smokers on here as well. I am going to my local tobacconist tomorrow and I will be picking up some pipe tobacco, as well as some cigars. I have my eyes on the Romeo and Juliet mini cigars. They come in tins of 20 and they are a...

The change of seasons and tobacco

Thanks Everybody. I find that Orlik Golden Slice, Mississippi River, and Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake satisfy my VaPer fix. For my burley blends I like Carter Hall, Prince Al, MacBaren Navy Flake, and MacBaren Mixture Scottish Blend. My favorite English belnd is G.L. Pease Westminster...

The change of seasons and tobacco

I have noticed in the recent change from cold weather to warm weather, my taste has changed in tobacco. In the winter, I became accustomed to English Blends; and now that it is Spring, I have become accustomed to Virginia/Perique blends. English Blends don't seem to have the fulfillment to...

    Breaking in my pipe?

When I break in a new pipe, I fill her all the way to the top with Tobacco and smoke the heck out of it. Once I have smoked it down to the ash, I cover the bowl with my palm and shake it for a few seconds. Shaking it will cause the ash to evenly coat the bowl, which will help in forming your...

    Kaywoodie

I recently purchased a Kaywoodie Campus Pipe, predominantly just to smoke while working, fishing, running around, ect......I know that Kaywoodie is similar to that of a Dr. Grabow. However, I have never smoked a Kaywoodie. I don't expect it to have superb smoking qualities, but I have heard...

Trying to pick my first pipe

Definitely go for the silver band pipe. As stated above, Churchwardens are nice pipes, but are rather bulky and could not be your best friend when trying to carry it around and such.

    Affordable Pipe Tobacco

Hello everybody! Me being a college student, I barely have two nickels to rub together at times. So what would be a GOOD pipe tobacco that would be a pleasure to smoke and rather easy on the wallet? I know that OVC blends are rather inexpensive and that buying in bulk could save some money...

Why did you first pick up a pipe?

I wanted a tastier and healthier alternative to cigarettes and other tobacco products out there. Plus, I always thought that pipes looked cool as did those who smoked them, so I picked up an Italian Briar and it has grown from there!
