    A fascinating proposition... perhaps it should be considered that certain pipes work better than others for certain tobaccos because they (or we) modify or smoking behaviors with them. 🤔 Here's another "pair" I've found: Erinmore likes a straight shank.

    Thanks, it's the MM "Let Freedom Ring Rob Roy" and I find that the unfinished/untrimmed exterior really allow moisture to move. Definitely my favorite cob.

    Sometimes I have a tobacco I love in a pipe that doesn’t love that tobacco. Now some tobaccos seem to be “all purpose” and so do some pipes.     Looks like we're both smoking MacBaren Scottish Blend. If you don't like the pouch look for the tin in airports... but I have to agree, it's pleasant side-gig smoke (like when you are concentrating on something else) but fails to stand out.
