Yesterday's Smoke: Took a couple of days off with just chew; too many break ins. Broke the pipe fast with my
Muxiang 102HT, with a
triple parfait of SWR on top, Capt Black Dark in the middle, and Borkum Riff Dark Cavendish as the base. Had a very good smoke indeed at my picnic table with some friends. A nice day for a change.
Skippable Drivel of limited interest below re the pipe itself.
Skippable Drivel: I've had a few of these pipes. Ended up giving them away to interested friends, and replacing them because I like the pipe, it's cheap, and it's a very good smoker and a great beginners pipe.
The pipe is made of ebony as advertised, (confirmed by a professional clarinettist - wood winds like clarinets and oboes are made of ebony), and I've seen and held enough of them to agree; distinctive grain pattern and a bit heavier than you'd expect for the size of the pipe. Smokes similar to briar and is just as tough in my experience. Doesn't need to be coddled as much during the break in process like ash or pearwood. Good general and kickaround outdoor all purpose pipe.
I followed buddy Mike's lead (he has one, too) and call it "Uncle Henry" after the pipe smoking neighbor of Dennis the Menace cartoon fame.
