Did a set of walking reps on this beautiful sunny day, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Tomato the Brave walked with me for a couple of minutes. He kept pouncing on my feet because he was in play mode every time I got near my house. Harry the Hairy stood driveway guard as usual.

G.L. Pease Abingdon in a Nording Signature Freehand. This was my first ever Nording when higher grade Nordings were just a pipe dream, but it's still one of my favorite pipes. It was also one of my first unstained and unwaxed pipes and began my love of Nordings and of unfinished pipes. It has colored beautifully, and I feel like that natural coloring has accelerated over the last few smokes. It looks great, it smokes great. Man, I just love this thing. 1000000763.jpg1000000765.jpg

After a nice, lingering trip through the south (home in FL for a couple weeks, trip to New Orleans for a couple days and a week on Galveston Island, TX) with only a handful of meers and maybe 15 or so tobaccos on board, it's nice to be back to the WA lounge -- in good weather -- back to the variety of both pipes and tobaccos i enjoy daily.

I had a couple new pipes awaiting my return, which i promptly fingered and stuffed. (Funny how the objects of desire change with age.) First up, a Fehmi Yavuz saucer:

This one went up in smoke with the morning coffee...and a bowl of Luminaire, which i did not have on hand during my travels.

How about a review of the Luminaire? It’s on my “to try” list and is on my “save for later” shopping cart at SP.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Peruvian Macchu Picchu, neat, is my drink. Watching the Cubs-D-Backs game, and getting ready to clean a few pipes. Sleepy Suzy is by my side just purring away. How she can do that for so long is beyond me.

If you're into non-lat orientals i'd definitely say pull the trigger. This one is a sleeper, IMO. One of my favorite new finds for 2024. :)

About to get a bowl of 2009 Escudo going in the new Fehmi Yavuz saucer.
