Photo of me and the gang at Conisbrough with Don Catchment Rivers Trust.
We shifted 21 bags of rubbish; 5 of them mine!

Thought of you today man. I was hiking on a ridge, beautiful area in the NF. Came on a pile of bottles and a tire, some idiot had dumped. Makes me so angry when I see that. I put the bottles in my pack for later disposal (trust me, they weren't pepsi bottles), and decided to roll the tire down to a little road where I could pick it up and haul it off. I figured I'd be restarting the roll several times. But I pointed it in the right direction and gave it an almighty shove, and it took off like it was alive. It bounded and raced, over logs, bushes, a hollow, two rises and ended up smack in the middle of the road! It was a good 3/4 mile, and not that steep a slope. Could hardly believe it! Made this trash picker upper very happy. Drove my truck about a hundred yards and slung the tire in. Kinda fun! :ROFLMAO: Here's to you, fellow trash picker!

After a nice, lingering trip through the south (home in FL for a couple weeks, trip to New Orleans for a couple days and a week on Galveston Island, TX) with only a handful of meers and maybe 15 or so tobaccos on board, it's nice to be back to the WA lounge -- in good weather -- back to the variety of both pipes and tobaccos i enjoy daily.

I had a couple new pipes awaiting my return, which i promptly fingered and stuffed. (Funny how the objects of desire change with age.) First up, a Fehmi Yavuz saucer:

This one went up in smoke with the morning coffee...and a bowl of Luminaire, which i did not have on hand during my travels.

Recent smoke, couple of days ago: Just not smoking my meers enough. Have to do this more, because I'd like to see a bit more color developing. It's apparent in real life, but only lightly visible from the last post I did with this pipe.

Dedicated to Orientals, I smoked this Vintage Meer loaded with C&D's Sunday Picnic. Forgot the makers name; have it written down somewhere but not here at my table. Doesn't matter . . . . smokes fantastic, and reveals the subtleties of SP in a manner that no other pipe has seemed to be able to do. Love Sunday Picnic, and have a full unopened 8 ounce tin. If you look closely at the jar, you'll see it's almost empty. Have to crack the tin soon. Another meer is on the want list, but Mastercard will be delaying that, I'm afraid. Just going to have to enjoy this one more often.

WCC Ahabs Comfort in a pipe. :)
Wow, this is a great tobacco!
My all time favorite Balkan blend is Peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme. Luckily I have a bunch stored away. No clue why they stopped making it.
Anyways, this Ahabs Comfort is giving me some seriously similar flavors. The Orientals are less forward, but the thickness of the smoke and smokiness is close.

Enjoyed a tall stack of cinnamon raisin French toast with unsalted peanuts and a golden delicious apple lunch. I've passed the first third of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Peruvian Macchu Picchu, neat, is my drink.
