GL Pease Cumberland in a Chacom. I’m thinking of rubbing this pipe with beeswax to see if it makes the grain pop. Speaking of grain, check out this A-5 Wagyu ribeye.View attachment 386683View attachment 386684

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. After they eat, I'll feed whatever ferals are around. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Two smokes from yesterday, afternoon and evening. As I mentioned the other day, my friend Stu gave me a trio of sample packets of three tobaccos, of two good pipefuls. Have to eat crow here. Was rather mehhhh about Cult Blood Moon, and had a bowlful of it left. Decided to smoke a medium bowl, leaving enough tobacco left for a repeat in a miniature just to make sure. Good plan.

The afternoon smoke was in my McQueen Cherry Russet, and previously meh rated Cult Blood Moon revealed it's true self and I had a simply fantastic smoke. Like, as good as it gets. The tobacco revealed everything good that I'd heard said about it. (upper picture).

So, I was happy to repeat the final bit of the tobacco in the bag, which just filled my McQueen Miniature Barrel Rider perfectly. The resultant evening smoke was equally superb. A too short 20 minutes. Yeah, I'd buy this tobacco, and will if I get a chance, for an evening when I want something just a bit special. One smoke, maybe, two smokes, yessir! (lower picture). Crow eaten, quite happily.

Final note, sharp eyes are going to notice that the Russet pictured is my ashwood specimen. Yup. My cherrywood one, in which I smoked Cult Blood Moon, hasn't yet been well photographed in the "new look" snaps. Just felt like adding a new arty-crafty twist to my posts for a while, anyways. The cherrywood and ash are identical in size and shape, just the wood is different. The cherry photo was actually taken but contrast was more problematic in the photo so I'll redo it when I have the time. Tobacco leaves are props from my two potted Oriental plants. The jar is generic . . . . they look the same and just have different printing on them.

Don't. Leave it be. Handling it and smoking it will darken it and enhance the grain naturally. From the looks of it as is it has lovely grain. I have a few unfinished pipes, and one of those I did as you are contemplating before I knew better, but wish I had not, as it hasn't changed appearance much over the years. That grain on yours won't take long to pop. Already looks great. I didn't realize Chacom had a line of unstained and unwaxed pipes and now I want one!
