I’ve never seen KB&B stamp anything like that on the stem. I suspect that was done after aftermarket. Possibly a retailer warranty kinda thing.

Found this Kaywoodie at an estate sale near my house. It was clearly well-loved, as it's got the prior owner's initials engraved on it — and it was completely clogged with tar when I bought it.
Managed to clean it well enough to use, although I accidentally broke the ball off the end of the (one-hole) stinger. Thinking of just cutting the stinger off; it's damaged anyway, and it gurgles like hell every time I use it. Otherwise though, a very nice pipe. I love the size and shape.
Any real value it may have had once, went away when the previous owner engraved his initials. So I say, cut that damn stinger off!
Kaufmann Bros. & Bondy (KB&B, a precursor to Kaywoodie) Gutta-percha Eagle Claw with Briar screw-in bowl, and orific bit, circa 1930s or earlier. This pipe is relatively large, measuring 10.5" diagonally from the stem tip to front claw. For scale, here it is next to a Savinelli Series III 320 KS Author, and my smallest Gutta-percha KB&B Eagle Claw pipe (2.5"):
Good morning. I am new to the site. Semi-new to collecting older pipes and adding new life to them. I recently acquired this Jarl off eBay for a respectable cheap amount of money. It is marked as a Jarl 1651 with no series indicated. It is approximately 5 1/4" and appears similar to a "ribbon" series. It is the first Jarl I have owned. So far, I have cleaned it, buffed it, reamed out the bowl, minor teeth mark removal from the stem, (still working on the bottom of the stem). I was able to locate various information about the history of the maker. But I have found limited information on the different series that were made. The possible value of this pipe seems to be all over the board from what I can find. I like the pipe and intend on keeping it. I would just like to know more about it. Any input would be appreciated. (and yes, it smokes nicely 
)

I’m pretty ecstatic about this one. I just got it in the mail today. It’s a Kaywoodie Drinkless Aristocrat 05 F. It has a push-stem stinger and is very petite pipe at 24 grams. I’m dating this to 1927?

A word about men’s styles from the twenties and thirties.
Pipes, watches, even fountain pens were most fashionable when smaller.
I own an early twenties WDC Milano Extra that’s a gorgeous little pipe, and the mortise is cut so thin the wood is about a razor blade thick.
And I own a 1940 Hamilton 14K Brock 19 jewel Hamilton watch only slightly wider than the skinny band.

These are my latest acquisitions, two Super Grain with shank logo. The one on the bottom was a surprising find in the UK and came with the tiny Drinkless in the middle as a bonus. The brand is relatively unknown here (UK) fortunately so on the rare occasions I do find them for sale there’s little if any competition. 
There are nice. I love that Dublin! I want one with the shank logo!
