Buroak - no, for me those pipes are identifiable just by the telltale stampings.
Dave - Yowza! Whatta goodlooker! It looks like an LC, such the elegant swan neck, and it's in great condition to boot, plus the orific bit!

A true prize it is!

I recall seeing those threads now, but had trouble finding them. Mystery solved. In the above add it appears they made BBB pipes AND BBB own make models at College Point. I guess mine's the former.....

I'll get her cleaned up one of these days and post some pics.

Dave, dunno how I missed that!! Absolutely beautiful pipe - MLC sums it up perfectly.
Another one for your records, Owen! According to the BBB catalogue (Cheers, Troy) - and I pored over it last night, this is, I think, a 'Mess' pipe.

Shame about the rim char, but, hey ho!

Sorry to bump this one after three months, but I thought it might be a good addition to the thread.

Besides, I wanted to ask if any of you has seen any modern BBB silver spigot before. Mine is hallmarked for 1992.

The only reference I could find is three pipes at Alpascia hallmarked for 1989. http://www.alpascia.com/pipes/l/BBB
