    Meerschaum Technique

Thanks for the answers everyone. I'll just add a bit of info to what I said above. The draft is fairly open at 3/32. It was nearly plugged when I bought it, but I re-drilled just at the tennon. Any wider and I think it would have made the tenon weak. After I posted the above, I noticed that...

    Meerschaum Technique

Hi all, it's been a loooooong time. How is everyone? I need some help regarding meerschaum smoking. I purchased my first recently, an antique, not branded, but definitely block meerschaum and the engineering is better than most I've seen at antique shops. Anyway, I've had four or five bowls in...

Back From LJ Peretti's (I Mean Boston)

Haha, sounds like a typical encounter at LJP's. They can be a little brusque in there. Their blends justify the abuse they give. I smoke LJP blends almost exclusively. It is a must-see if your in Boston. Glad you got the opportunity.

    Lapsang Souchong

I love Souchong as well. I prefer it with any virginia forward blend. Some latakia is fine, but plain smoke on smoke is a bit dull.

Trying to pick my first pipe

Both packages look great. Choose the pipe you prefer the look of. Either pipe is going to be an evening smoker anyway. Eventually grab some less expensive briar pipes for knocking about the yard or town. Enjoy.

    Luciano Sandblasted Bulldog

I love the shape through the stem and shank, the blast is incredible, but agree with you both that the bowl profile is less than attractive.
