    Filtered vs. Non-Filtered pipes.

i like the filters. That said, I smoke both. My favorite, for whatever reason, is the Vauen; it has a carbon filter, but not sure if it really "filters" the taste of the smoke... It must, but it still tastes good to me. The non-filter (IMHO) is more a purist, as people say it'll filter the...

Thinking of trying to make a pipe.

Has anybody tried one of the "kits"? I have seen them around the web and have often wondered if it ws worth the hassle. I know if you use a "kit" it isn't the same as going out and finding the choice cuts from choice wood and making it from scratch. But I'm more like the guy that found the...

I have worked in Peru for the past couple of years. These pics have always been on the cigs, since I've been here. You can't buy cigs without the pics. Some of them are horrible. When I smoked cigs I couldn't hardly smoke from those packs! Glad a went to more friendly system of carcinogens...

    Why I don't smoke a cob

I just bought a couple of cobs... They're waiting form me when I get home. The main reason I bought them is this. I too, was lured into pipe smoking a few years back becuase of the lifestyle and beautiful works of art. I didn't start "really" smoking one until a few MONTHS back. So I like to...

Looking for a meerschaum, can anyone help?

I have decided to give in to the PAD and get a new Meerschaum straight black stem smooth finish Billiard. I have seen many of them with a black stem tha's not completely straight. Most of them have a hard transition on the stem from large to small. I am looking for one with a black stem with...

    Alcohol cleaning question

GREAT Answers for a newb with a resurrected post! Romeo, I need a little more detail on the chemistry lab thing... That sounds like taking the pipe back to new status but has some risks that might not be worth it. I'll try the cotton ball with some everclear. The problem with using my...
