Brothers of the Beard
Short beard here, although I rotate facial hair throughout the year. Beard for late fall/winder. Clean shaven for early summer, goatee during the rest of the year. The beard isn't anything impressive since I don't grow it for very long, but it IS red. :)- bcirka

Just one guy's opinion
I see your point, but I would like to support the opinion stated above saying that for those of us beginners who want to drive different types of tobacco, but aren't yet willing or able to spent $100s on different pipes to avoid ghosting. I'm still fairly new, and am glad with my cob purchases... -

Restoring Estate Pipe - Start to Finish?
Good day all. My brother-in-law picked me up a small meerschaum at an antique shop last Christmas. The pipe is a bit of a mess though, dirty, charred rim, and it doesn't look to have been cleaned from the inside. Does anyone have any resources (books, websites) in their back pocket that...- bcirka

Does any body else do this?
I've never done that. I just buy those Ball jars from the store, but I'm guessing since you said you clean these out well, that there would be no issue with flavor contamination.- bcirka

Ashy Taste
Interesting comments from everyone. I experience an ashy taste in tobacco when I am smoking to fast and it gets too hot. The cooler I smoke, the more pure flavor comes through.- bcirka
