Perfect! But we need before and after pics!!
I mailed the lighter on 1/28/20. On 2/6/20 I received an email that my first class USPS package had been received at Zippo. Today, (2/10/20) I received an email that the repairs had been completed and they were mailing it back.
I've read this a number of times, but wonder...

Yes, you CAN taste fuel from your pipe if you improperly used a Zippo to light it.
That works for me too. I’ve also learned to only use Zippo brand fluid. I bought a yellow jug of the Ronson lighter fluid once because it was cheaper. Well, there was a reason it was cheaper. You could not burn off that heavy lighter fluid smell no matter how long you let it burn. I finally used it up and bought real Zippo branded fuel. Difference is night and day. But as you said, everyone’s taster is different.I’ve found if you light the zippo and give it about 3 seconds before putting it to tobacco, I can’t taste it at all. Of course everybody’s taster is different
I’ll never buy anything but a zippo again. Awesome. My Grandfather’s broken hinge light was returned today and they game me a pipe insert. I’m a fan for life.

I use one of those too. Bit small fluid chamber but works well. Also a bit annoying that the flame level is very dependent on how cold the lighter is. Need to start carrying it in my pocket instead of leaving it in the truck over night.
