I generally use a match for the first light on my pipe. For subsequent re-lights, I usually use my Zippo with a pipe insert incidentally let me bring to mind the zippo Premium fuel, as it is low odor compared to the regular Zippo fuel. The disadvantage of a butane lighter is that it burns approximately 1000°C higher than a conventional lighter, and that runs the risk of scorching the wood, as well as destroying flavor components of the tobacco. That said, I have several nice butane lighters, including the IM Corona Old Boy, and confess that I enjoy their convenience. However I also have a Zippo, a Nimrod Commander, and it Nimrod Sportsman. Love them all. You smoke a pipe for over 50 years, and you pick up a few toys along the way. ![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
