Bayou Morning.
I know, I know, most people like it, but I cannot smoke it.
I originally thought it was the amount of Perique in the blend.
But, I now believe its just how the Perique interplays with the other components maybe. There are other blends that have the same amount or MORE Perique which I love. Va/Pers are one of my favorite genres.
I bought a pound of it about 8 years ago and did not like it.
I put it away until this Spring, and I still dislike it.
Ive given a bunch away and will continue to give it away.
Bayou Morning with 8 years of age might be some guys dream.....its still my nightmare. :)
While it's not my worst, I totally had a similar experience with this blend. I let it sit 8 years and still did not really enjoy it.

My only horrible experience with tobacco came with 1792. Flavor was meh and she burned hotter than a Thai hooker.

But I knew I was a noob, and I often march at triple cadence, so I knew not to toss it. I recently found a little jam jar I kept of it from 2013. In the interest of science I owe it to the blend to try again.

I know it is all subjective. I mean there are people who eat beef liver (and balls), and all manner of sea things that are eww. So it stands to reason we here can list off out hated tobacco and someone else is like, "Dang, really? I like that one a lot".

I don't love Haunted Bookshelf, but i get just enough flavor to see why some might. Turns out I like Deertongue, so Crooner scratches an occasional craving. I was blessed to try a tobacco from the 1950s at a Seattle Pipe Club gathering that served as the best possible way to introduce me to geranium Lakeland-ness. So I like that, too.

To to those of you hating on MacB Navy flake, I give no quarter!! Beatings will continue until morale improves!!

Kidding! But I was again blessed when first starting out to get a few tins off ebay that had 5 years age on them. It is good fresh, but sublime with 5 years in it.

I have a shelf full of worst tobaccos in various genres. I keep them, in small mason jars, because I have been told here that my tastes will probably change in the future. Every now and then I will try one to see if this change has occurred yet. So far they serve as valuable negative points of comparison. The handful of tobaccos I do like (Five Brothers is one of them) seem so much better afterwards.
I have some "bad" tobaccos as well that I tend to blend with something strong that I like that is a bit too strong to have alone. The bad tobacco is my "filler" so I'm not using so much of the tobacco I like. I think a lot of us have that bad tobacco we wondered why we bought it. Maybe someday we meet we have a bad tobacco swap. :)

I've never heard of this "Thai Hooker." Was this a C&D small batch release that I missed?

True, but in all fairness, most of them are Thai hookers. At least the balls part.

Agreed! Let's turn the Thai hookers loose on the lot of them.

I imagine it was probably similar to C&D small batch Ladyboy, which was Oriental with a little bit of Burley. Tasted good and was quite inexpensive, but I think it was more of a "try it once out of curiosity then move on" sorta thing than something you'd wanna have every day.

As much as it pains me, I cannot stand Presbyterian. Just not my particular cup of tea.
Came here to say the same. I do enjoy englishes, but despise this one…it just doesnt work for me.

Sadly I also stocked up on a bunch of Sir Walter 7oz tubs, have 6 in total. They all have similiar (new) production dates. The first one i opened was horrid. There is a thread on this somewhere. Super bummed, they are all likely junk.

And shame on everyone for hating on Haunted Bookshop, thats about 75% of what I smoke. Better yet, send it to me and I’ll dispose of it for you.

Captain Black I found to be very frustrating to smoke, it's so goopy. I like the taste of Presbyterian but it gives me a headache for some reason. Other than that I haven't been smoking long enough to have blends I really dislike

Also gonna put in that my current bane is Bob’s Chocolate Flake. Makes me genuinely sad, one bowl of it was deep and rich, but one before and two after that experience have tasted like a new Spaulding basketball. Clean clay pipe and everything.
