Your Own "Worst" Tobacco

C&D - Orions Aarow. I tried this once or twice and could -not- get it to taste well. Ever. I don’t even remember what it tasted like, but I never went back to it. I think I still have it in a jar somewhere in the bowels of my cellar. May try it once more… maybe

Peterson’s - Irish flake. The very first time I tried this, I was a new pipe smoker aaand I got so high from the nicotine rush I had to take a cold shower, where I sat in the tub, trying to eat something and sipping on something cold, crying, and I had to call in late to work lmfao. I didn’t try it again for a good long while… but I did eventually try it again and now it’s a go to for me when I’m choring around the property cutting trees or in the tractor or whatever. Love it!

I never liked Frog Morton! Yuck. I am one of the few that just didn't get the appeal.

This is going to be unpopular but I despise Escudo and Robert McConnel Scottish Flake. I have been trying my hardest to like them for two or three years but I simply cannot enjoy them.

My tastes are eclectic for sure as a disclaimer so i like a large variety of blends, though ones i could not get into for the life of me;
Sutliff Molto Dulce which had no flavor, and made popping noises like wet wood burning
McConnel Maduro which had little flavor and aroma, it was like smoking hot air
Cornell and Diehl Visions of Celaphais, the grape not upon opening was a warning. I dared to smoke it and the unfinished wine notes absolutely ruined it and my mouth for like 3 days
there have been other blends that were just barely ok that i wouldn't have again but those 3 left a strong impression

Despite the fact that is dawning on me, that a tobacco may require some time for one to learn to understand its ways, doesn't prior expectation also influence one's perception of a blend? A while ago, I read on tobaccoreviews.com a number of four-star rave write-ups of Rattray's Marlin Flake, including one which a devotee there even described as "the tobacco God smokes".

Having read that and filled with eagerness to try it I was, to say the least, rather disappointed in it, as in no other.

God, of course, being an eternal entity, probably does have the time to rub carefully, let dry a looong while and - eventually - stuff a couple of flakes into His celestial Meerschaum and wreathe Himself in the clouds that also enthrone Him, taking a slow inbreath of days to avoid its vicious bite in the meantime, in between endless relights (a plausible aetilology for lightning clouds)... however, this sinful, profane and ephemeral mortal is clearly not yet worthy of full communion with the empyrean smoke. Selah.

Unfortunately, K (formerly known as K&K) really crapped up the Rattray’s blends in recent years.

C&D Haunted Bookshop smells and tastes like ass. Thought I'd give another one of their blends a try - Crooner. It also smells and tastes like ass. Now I'm stuck with 8 ounces of jarred ass.

Good morning Pipers. In my pipe smoking history I have tried many tobacco. I don't much care for a few of these tobaccos but I find some pleasure in most blends that I try.
I am always fascinated by the degree in which taste differ so here is the question.
Is there one tobacco that you have tried and absolutely detested?
Now I realize that everyone will have different answers and of course, there is no judgment in this question, just curiosity.
I will start… For me it was Five Brothers. When I smoked it by itself, I got a little sick from the nicotine hit and felt like I was smoking dry grass. I vowed to never smoke it again. With that being said, I do like to mix it with weaker mixtures to give it a little punch.
What is your "never again" tobacco?

If the label reads pipe tobacco I love it. Some more than others, but still….

Some pumpkin spice blend many like went straight to the trash shortly after lighting it, lol and surprisingly Peterson’s Irish Whiskey was a “yuck”. Those two stick out vs. many that were just “blah”. But that’s part of exploration.

Yikes - no judgments, lol, but memories of anything “Vick’s” from when I was a kid aren’t wonderful and when I enjoyed cigarettes in HS and college anything menthol was a firm no go.

I just don't like perique... To be honest it ruins almost every Va blend I smoke. I used to like Elizabethan Mixture but came to the realization that I don't. I have had a couple of smokes of a De Luxe Navy roll with 5 years of age on it that was pretty dang good but thats about it.

Honestly that is how I feel. I like Burleys, Virginias, English's, Aromatics, Codger Blends etc. as long as I can stuff in a pipe, I usually find something to enjoy about it.
