My first pipe was a Paronelli, purchased from a shop in Pordenone, Italy (April/May 1994) a few weeks after the
31st Fighter Wing was activated at Aviano Air Base.
The pipe sustained irreparable damage, upon my receiving confirmation of a downed Triple Nickle F-16
(555th Fighter Squadron) from the sky over Bosnia.

Could well have been, as my second or so purchase was the same, though in NYC, not Fairbanks! It was small! I wish I still had it.
These leather covered Bradberrys are the first pipes I owned.
They were gifted to me for my birthday in 1967(thanks Mom) and are still part of my pipe rotation.

Well, embarrassed to say... my first was this ebony wood Whitluck Tobacco Pipe I found on Amazon for $23, including the pipe, a Czech tool, a stand, and some pipe cleaners. The only thing I still use is the stand and the Czech tool. Pretty pipe, but heavy and not very fun to smoke.

NJ has some awesome spots. Too many people drive through Bayonne and that's where they get the bad impression. (Well, a theory at least.)
A whole bunch handed down to me from my dad in the fall of ‘22 when I was a wee lad of 55…then my first pipes actually purchased by me were the MM Eaton and Morgan on the right.
My first pipe is a Czech made bent brandy. Purchased 4/11/11 from local cigar shop for $25. Still smoke it a few times a year.
It was 1963 and a pipe plus two packs of Raleigh for $1.25. My second pipe was a new Castello for $25.....and I still smoke it to this day.
Being born and raised in MIssouri (KC), it had to be a MM, with a pouch of Captain Black (aarrrgh!) and a tin of Original Borkum Riff around 1967. Smoked through the rest of HS and all through college and the Navy. Burned it up, finally, in Iceland!
Some "cool blue" thing about 1999 that I wouldn't give a 2nd look at today. It might have been French. Don't remember the tobacco I tried to use in it but I didn't "take" to it very well. Don't know if I threw it away or where it went to. I tried again about 19 years later and am having more success this time. The first ones I bought the 2nd time around were Pear wood from Eastern Europe via Etsy.
