The first two are easy:

The Andy Griffith Show (until they lost Don Knotts)
Maverick (Bret, Bart, Bret and Bart, but like James Bond, once they let Roger Moore in . . .)

After that, too many to mention that come tied for next, heck, even Jonny Quest and The Roy Rogers Show are in the mix with M*A*S*H* and Seinfeld and the first few seasons of Yellowstone and GOT, heck, I never wanted to miss an episode of It Takes A Thief, lol. Downton Abbey and the original All Creatures Great And Small top the PBS shows for me. Some great Sherlock series. I've watched a lot of TV in my life!

I can't think of an American remake of a British show that didn't suck in comparison. I'm sure someone will chime in and say The Office but that's complete bollocks!

In nearly every case that I know of, I would have to agree with you; HOWEVER, there is one remake of a British TV Show - Steptoe & Son - whereby the American re-make version of the show premise crushes that opinion handily.

I have to wonder what pipe tobacco Fred Sanford would smoke...? - Sherm Natman
