I was already struggling at 2m 46s, haven't tried it since. There was a lot of smoke but even more saliva.Downed a clay pipe of Special Virginia in 1 minute 20 seconds yesterday!

@Brendan I've saved 3 empty Clan packets and used some to decorate my hand made Christmas cards!Probably wouldn't hurt Dan, sorry, Clay King, to buy a packet of Clan and keep the empty pack, re use it as your tobacco pouch if you like the tartan design.
@brian64 HahaI just wanted to keep up on my contributions toward making the "World's Slowest Race" the World's Longest Thread.
I am surprised this thread has gone on so long.I just wanted to keep up on my contributions toward making the "World's Slowest Race" the World's Longest Thread.
Your thread was chosen by The Clay King for special Royal Purposes known only to him...an impenetrable mystery to the rest of us...you may consider yourself blessed.I am surprised this thread has gone on so long.

@The Amish Tyrant Many Thanks .All hail the clay king!
@Flatfish @The Amish Tyrant @Chasing Embers It was the mention of slow smoking competitions & @brian64 mentioned fast smoking; I'd like to beat my best times for both but a lot of it depends on the size of the bowl and the tobacco...I am surprised this thread has gone on so long.

@TheIronMonkey @brian64 @Chasing Embers @coming to_falling too I checked with the event organisers and there are no records; just the first to smoke all their tobacco.Out of curiosity, what is considered a good time in terms of a fast smoke? I'm trying to get a sense of @halfdan 's forty seconds mentioned earlier. Is there a documented speed record somewhere?
No one could beat the Clay King! But at this point I'm thinking the cows will come home before it ever happens.@TheIronMonkey @brian64 @Chasing Embers @coming to_falling too I checked with the event organisers and there are no records; just the first to smoke all their tobacco.
Who do you think will win if I took part???
Never give up. Never give in. And never make a promise you can't keep.@The Amish Tyrant Many Thanks .
Got at least 5 boxes of clay pipes; should I make it a New Year resolution to not buy any more???
@The Amish Tyrant @brian64 @coming to_falling too @Chasing Embers I don't want to smoke all my baccy and have none left for the re-enactment events I'm going to this year...Never give up. Never give in. And never make a promise you can't keep.
@brian64 I lost contact with the event team and nothing online about it...No one could beat the Clay King! But at this point I'm thinking the cows will come home before it ever happens.
They may have seen this thread and have gone into hiding.@brian64 I lost contact with the event team and nothing online about it...
@brian64 I notice the Condor packet when they're handing out the clay pipes; I can almost smell all that pipe smoke...You might prefer this competition:
