Acronyms. I hear so many, it gets absurd.

Today I was told "first deliver a POC for RBA on CPT. Then prepare a MDS, follow through with SMT and have it ready for DOD"
It's like laziness has reached new heights, that people can't even be bother to complete words or sentences.
POS.

Oh, I agree, londonmake. In a free and open society such as ours, no one should have to put up with a political candidate's opposing viewpoints. It's simply un-American.

Of course. If we let this lunacy get out of hand, next thing you know, they'll expect us to listen to two people drivel on incessantly. Then they'll want us to pick which one we agree with more, and then vote for them. No one needs that kind of anarchy.

Acronyms are awful. I try to spell things out even when I'm inside a specific group. Sometimes it's good to type out Tobacco Acquisition Disorder for the newcomers. Some scientists can't discuss their research without techno-speak, and others consider translating into plain English as an art. I think the latter get the grants.

Old-School has been used mindlessly as a category quite a lot.

Wow. Just wow.

I'm just saying.

It is what it is.

I am what I am.

This seems ambiguous because we can grammatically say: "Bring an umbrella, in case of rain." That doesn't mean to bring an umbrella when it is raining. So the sign could mean that the elevator is out of service "in case there is a fire". The sign could say:"In the event of fire" etc. and be clearer in meaning.

OMG
A few years back I was working in a ceramics glazing room and had to listen to two young women who each inserted this into every "sentence" - often more than once.
I could only think that anyone who utters this clearly has little respect for "their" god - and the feeling might well be mutual.

It's a good thing they're specific about using an exit... in case of a fire, I might accidentally leave through the entrance and wind up back in the fire.

I formerly belonged to an outing club that had a small metal box secured to the wall in the sleeping room, with the text, "In case of fire, break glass".
Inside was a marshmallow on a piece of wire.

I first saw it some 40 years ago, but it's gone now.
The cabin (White Mountains in NH) was hit by lightning about a decade ago.
However, it was rebuilt - this time with a lightning rod.

'Politically correct'.
Sick and tired of hearing it, and much too overused. I'm at a end of people (government officials included) trying to do so and being afraid that they may somehow possibly offend 1% of the population.
