I find a lot of women actually like my pipe, several will say it brings up happy memories of their grandfather or the like.

My wife doesn't mind at all unless it's a super strong one in the office and now that I've smoked non-aromatics for years, if I do smoke an aromatic, she doesn't like the smell of them.

Some times a pipe is just a smoke!
It's been an ice breaker for some women to start a conversation with me, but Charlize Theron hasn't even looked in my direction. Not expecting that to change in this life!

The answer to this question is summed up pretty well in the movie The Tourist:
Frank Taylor: I'm sorry!

Elise: What for?

Frank Taylor: Aha! Oh do you mind me smoking, it's not a real cigarette, look! It delivers the same amount of nicotine, but the smoke is water vapor.

Elise: That's somewhat disappointing.

Frank Taylor: Would you rather have me smoking?

Elise: I'd rather you be a man who does exactly as he pleases.

JimInks: You're right and thank you for the great story. Men have gotten laid because of far less great things than pipe smoking.
My wife and I smoked cigarettes together all the time when we first met and I made the transition to pipes while she just quit smoking. She likes it when I smoke a pipe as long as it's not in her car.

Thank you for your encouraging notes, gents. Fortunately, I smoke aromatics for the most part.

I sort of dread it when my neighbor sees me in the yard with my pipe. She'll run across the street and practically stick her nose in the bowl. I'm 61 and she's pushing 90. She's a very nice lady and has lived through a lot interesting history, including fleeing from the Nazis in the 1930s.

My bride of 31 years, the oncology nurse, doesn't like my pipes ... Tonight I am sitting on the porch in humidity and heat and bugs enjoying DH 965 ... And in a few weeks I will be enjoying my pipes in the garage and she will Giev me heck ... And when the UPS guys deliver yet another package of .... She will complain ... LIfe is good.

Ha ha, MSO, I would never trade my wife for a Becker... Now two Beckers is a different story.
She lost her father to lung cancer at a very early age, and he was a cigarette smoker. She has never liked smoking, smokers, or anything tobacco. So, when we met, I was quitting cigarettes. I was eating those lozenges for a year, and still I was always craving nicotine. It was hell. Then, when I started smoking a pipe, the two of us would listen to Brian on the PM radio show while we worked in our store at night, she finally came around to pipes. She saw it as being something completely different from smoking, which it is. She made me a little corner of the couch for my pipes that I kept at her house, and would ask me to smoke, because she loved the herbally Virginia aroma. She compared them to teas and coffees. Now, we are married, and I've rebuilt our home, with a smoking room, which is still a work in progress, and we have vent fans throughout the house, and I still have a corner of the living room. She will even carry tins for me in her purse, buy me gifts of pipes and tins when she happens to to be out in that area. She has gone to pipe shows with me, and will accompany me to the Briary also.

She also doesn't get jealous when women come up to admire my pipe. And, she knows which artisans and pipe styles I prefer, and she now knows quite a bit about tobacco. And, thank God, she doesn't smoke my pipes or tobacco, ha ha. I really couldn't have a better wife. But, she cannot stand cigars, ha ha, which I have to smoke outside.

I am pretty sure that she thinks pipes are sexy.

The girl I've been seeing the last few years absolutely loves the smell of Hearth & Home Blackhouse. A couple of other latakia blends are "OK," but Blackhouse really excites her. I find this very strange and very awesome at the same time.

Here we go, bunch of Americans talking about women that got attracted to or repelled by their pipes. I just hope that you were talking about smoking pipes.

There are still a few women under 65 who remember a male relative who smoked a pipe and like the aroma of a nice blend. None I know of like the aroma of most of the blends I smoke however. Given that I am married and smoke outdoors, it's not a problem.
When I was in college, lots of the girls' fathers, uncles and/or grandfathers smoked a pipe, and most of the girls loved the smell of a pipe. I however, prefered cigars, which virtually all the co-eds despised. Like Jim, those were the days when you could smoke in the smaller classrooms, and I got hassled by the co-eds for lighting up a cigar, even as they themselves chainsmoked cigarettes. They said a pipe would be ok...recalling no doubt the codger blends their family member(s) smoked. I chose to smoke a lat bomb however, which turned them off as much as the cigar. Which was what I was after actually. I had no interest in those snots. I kept some aromatic on hand to smoke around girls I was interested in.
