Ha ha, MSO, I would never trade my wife for a Becker... Now two Beckers is a different story.
She lost her father to lung cancer at a very early age, and he was a cigarette smoker. She has never liked smoking, smokers, or anything tobacco. So, when we met, I was quitting cigarettes. I was eating those lozenges for a year, and still I was always craving nicotine. It was hell. Then, when I started smoking a pipe, the two of us would listen to Brian on the PM radio show while we worked in our store at night, she finally came around to pipes. She saw it as being something completely different from smoking, which it is. She made me a little corner of the couch for my pipes that I kept at her house, and would ask me to smoke, because she loved the herbally Virginia aroma. She compared them to teas and coffees. Now, we are married, and I've rebuilt our home, with a smoking room, which is still a work in progress, and we have vent fans throughout the house, and I still have a corner of the living room. She will even carry tins for me in her purse, buy me gifts of pipes and tins when she happens to to be out in that area. She has gone to pipe shows with me, and will accompany me to the Briary also.
She also doesn't get jealous when women come up to admire my pipe. And, she knows which artisans and pipe styles I prefer, and she now knows quite a bit about tobacco. And, thank God, she doesn't smoke my pipes or tobacco, ha ha. I really couldn't have a better wife. But, she cannot stand cigars, ha ha, which I have to smoke outside.
I am pretty sure that she thinks pipes are sexy.
