Women Repelled By Pipe Smokers?

I'm going to be meeting with a new lady soon, and don't want to offend her, if she is so inclined, with a pipe.

The obvious tactic is just to ask, as 12pups suggested. It never hurts to ask. And if the lady is offended even by a mention of a pipe, well, there's something wrong with her, and I'd back off at once.

I'm sure some women avoid pipe smokers. I avoid women with an abundance of tattoos and those wearing way too much perfume. We all have biases.

Getting back to the OP's question, I find it a rather meaningless grasp at creating a new topic like some others here and if I were a woman, maybe even a bit insulting. No one group of people can be adequately described just because of their gender, and does it really matter? Does anyone here smoke or not smoke to attract or repel women?

Just a personal experience, though an old one. When I started college, around the middle of the last century, there was one co-ed (do they still use that word?) who got my attention more than the others. Eventually she came up to me and asked "may I sit at your feet and smell your pipe?" It was Balkan Sobranie white label.

Here's hoping the good old days keep making a comeback, foggymountain. Pipes fell out of favor for awhile, but I am finding people more an more open to the idea lately.

Most recent experience I had whilst out smoking a pipe was some haggard ogre complaining about me smoking an aromatic sample I'd been given by a friend. I was sitting on a terrace drinking a beer, where it's perfectly legal so smoke here.

I wasn't enjoying the tobacco all too much anyway. As most aromatics do, this had more scent than flavour. The scent was nice, though. Or so I thought...
The way Shrek's sister was carrying on, anyone would think I'd loaded a turd into my pipe bowl. The irony? She was chain smoking coffin nail after coffin nail. BUT THEN a little while later, I had two (much nicer looking) younger ladies show interest in the pipe. They were non-smokers. The rest of the evening, it went entirely unnoticed.

Generally, I don't think women care all that much.

No I dont think so, I was playing racket ball at the country club with a couple of friends last week, afterwards we went to the clubhouse for lunch, as we were waiting for our meal I excused myself and went to the smokers corner, where I joint two older gents in ther mid fifties who smoked cigars, we chatted about this and that after they left this one girl come up to me and said its pretty cool seing young guys smoking pipe as this creates an air of nostalgia and sophistication, I of course did correct her saying that am not that young being 36, well she had a pleasant demeanour, and what a small world we live in turns out she works at the brokerage which service our family.
