There are 195 nations in this world that print postage stamps. That’s how the bean counters keep track of nations.

America has the finest post office in all the recorded history of mailing a letter.

The stamps we buy today, have no denomination. They’ll mail a one ounce letter until Judgement Day.

Most children still learn cursive in the second grade, and all learn how to sign their name in cursive.

My mother was taught Spencerian script cursive handwriting and always thought my penmanship was terrible, although I learned the Palmer method in the second grade at Humansville.

Block printing has always been more legible than any cursive style.

Which is why all those forms require you sign above a printed name.

The kids will get along just fine.

They can use computers far better than we can, and their block style handwriting will be legible to those used to Times New Roman.

True story....
Last year my son and I go to Huddle House for breakfast.
Son orders some skillet special.
I ask for an American cheese omelet. (As I don't like swiss or cheddar in my eggs)

Waiter looks me straight in the eye and says:

"we ain't got dat, all we got's regg-ler cheese."

I was so shocked that I said that would be fine.

Guess what? Evidently American and regg-ler are the same thing.

And you definitely have to read all the paperwork when buying a firearm too, but hey, facts are facts
My ex-wife worked as a sales clerk at a gun store in Kentucky. It was part of her job to read the paperwork and fill in the answers for people who couldn't read and/or write. The only thing they have to do is "make a mark" where the signature goes.

The state of Texas driver's license exam is a computer based test that will read every question and answer option to the person taking the test if they can't read it themselves. Facts ARE Facts.

Even worse is when they state they won't take cash, and I am starving and the bakery item looks too good. So I tap my CC and leave muttering.
Now the FBI knows my eating habits in the morning.
Only two delis in my town left that are still cash only, not sure how they do it but they do. The food is really good, so that helps I think.

That doesn't make sense. More business here are cash only, because credit card Point of Sales (POS) will charge sometimes up to 15% off of your end, sometimes varying rates based on what kind of card it is. You definitely lose money by only taking cards.

The smaller businesses are the ones getting knocked in the head for fees though... Those who do more business get a better deal.

Postage is like this now too. When I ship hatching eggs to california it cost around 30 bucks... But Wal-Mart ships 79 cent cans of beans for free.

Larger corporations also will set up their own POS's, but yeh... I know what you mean. But here, all of the businesses in our downtown, bars, cigar shops, and delis are all cash only now.

I never never heard anything or anyone official ever say that cash is going away. That is one of those things that only ever gets said in forums or social media.

No, really though. I agree those passing dumb stuff around social media about this and that are dumbasses. That's why I won't even read it.

But if you look around you'll see the writing on the wall. Kids hitting their phones on the cash register and paying somehow... Signs about no 50s or 100s... Stories of new and better counterfeits...

I do my business with 99% cash... It gets harder all the time, and will continue to do so unless people care, and at this point the people would rather have the perceived convenience of the new systems.

It would be pointless to argue with you about your opinion. I would just say that I don't see it the same as you, but of course, I could be wrong, or you could be. No point in arguing or debating something like that.
Just everytime I hear that I wonder where they get that info. Everyone assumes everyone has access to a computer or smartphone, but that is not so. Most of the wealthiest people I know have neither. And, still most labor payments are still made in cash.

No sir, I don't wish to argue with ya.

I hope you are right.

Actually, not all that much, if at all. A lot of businesses went cashless during the pandemic, to avoid handling filthy germy money. People got used to it and now many people don't carry cash.

It’s comforting to know that “effeminate, self-admiring, emaciated fribbles” have been in existence and the scorn of elders since the 1700’s. In modern terms these are the puny weaklings calling everything that doesn’t suit them “toxic” nowadays.
