Jesus has left Chicago, but THIS bus is leaving New Orleans. The Perique tour is rolling! (from the Facebook page). My daughter is taking us to the Mardi Gras museum....

That old room smelled awesome.
A Big thanks to Toby for getting this all together and to Mark for getting his associates to stuff 700 baggies of various tobaccos. :puffy:

Went to the New Orleans Pipe Show and came home with two tins of Penzance and this beautiful Zack Hamric pipe that I promise will be slowly broken in.

I was eyeballing that one Pappymac!
Wow, where to start. I just came home from the show and we're heading back out to watch LSU football somewhere shortly.
I've been to a number of shows and I have to say this show was the most fun I've had at a pipe event. Toby D and the NOLA pipe club outdid themselves. The new venue was quite simply fantastic. I can't imagine Harrah's being anywhere near as convenient and accommodating. The vendor list was impressive and we had plenty of room. Smoking on the attached patio was fantastic, sofa's, tables, just terrific.

I hope that I don't forget anyone but I met: Ryan Alden (Lonestar). Shantiques and Voorhees - guys it was a real pleasure to share a pipe with you. Cosmic and his wife. Toby of course. Zack Hamrick and Greta. Pappymac (club member). I even met my neighbor - jmiller at the show, neither of us knew the other was going!
I messaged Ryan Alden before the showing and asked if he has one of his famous Author shapes - he sure did and it was a rare smooth. Yep, I feel prey immediately. I enjoyed the pipe at the show and I love all aspects of this one. That blew most of my show funds, but if you have to go, go with an Alden, right?

Sid and Sue from the Magnolia Pipe Club (Jackson MS). A very gracious couple! Sid won the slow smoke contest on a very windy evening, easily outpacing the field.

It was a genuine pleasure on my part as well. Everyone I met was like meeting an old friend. I could do that all the time. Props to all the guys who made it happen. I have pictures that I'll post when I get back.

Toby and the gang did a fantastic job!

I'll leave New Orleans a little lighter on cash, but so very glad I came. Everything about this show was absolutely top notch.
