Who Makes the Best Factory Pipe Sub $100?

My Peterson Derry Rustic cost a little less than $100. As a novice, I am impressed with the aesthetics and smoke .

All smoke nicely, no issues or complaints.

Honestly it depends more on what style you prefer, but it's pretty easy to find what you like for below $100.

*If you can get a Falcon stem and bowl or two, you'd also be happy. I really like mine!

#1 Missouri Meerschaum.
The injection molded 80 cent plastic stems have better internal geometry than any factory pipe.

#2 Scott's Pipes (of course if you must have Briar then Scott's Pipes is #1).

#3 Tsuge "The Tasting" pipes.
The buttonwork on those is as good as a Radice at 1/4 the price.

It's nice to hear what everyone else's favourites are, I cant help but notice Peterson isn't getting anywhere near the love that Savinelli and Stanwell are getting, and rightfully so. I have 8 of them and they aren't even half as good as my Savinellis(7) or Stanwells(3). I have most of the brands mentioned already, like Ropp(1), BC(3), Kaywoodie(1), Chacom(3).
I also wasn't aware that Kaywoodie was still being made, I have a straight Rhodesian and am not really a fan.
Iv'e been considering a Rattray's for a while now, just never pulled the trigger on one.

I prefer higher tier Savinellis and Petersons. I honestly wouldn't spend 100 on one. I'd save up to the 200 range. It's worth it.

I didn't even know Stanwell was still making pipes.

Got inspired so I started poking around and came across this gem at SP.
Felt compelled to order it along with another Falcon bowl.
$96 with a deep bowl and a pretty nice looking grain (for that price)? Sure why not!

Missouri Meerschaum gets my vote. I should add, they appear to be the only pipes under a $100.00 USD I own. The least expensive Petes I own were all over a hundred dollars,

My collection of 40-something pipes consists of Briarworks, Moonshine, Big Ben, Morgan Bones, Chacom, Al Pascia, Kirsten, Missouri Meerschaum, and I have a Vauen in the mailbox. No idea how that one will perform, but it'll probably be decent.

The cheapest pipes I own cost around $25 (MM acorn cobs), and the most expensive are around $200 (Kirstens + aftermarket bowls), with most of them being somewhere in between. Out of all those 40ish pipes, I haven't really run into a turkey yet.

My current shelf rotation is a couple of Al Pascia Curvys, which I really like because they're army mount reverse calabashes that smoke very nicely, and are very quick and easy to thoroughly clean after each use. I like all my pipes, but the Curvys see the most use. I think I spent around $110 including shipping on each of them.

Kaywoodie is back. Perhaps it never really went away, but leave no doubt, it is back. I just got a new one, an Oom Paul.

There are two strong vendors of Kaywoodies right now, Greywoodie and WV pipes and tobacco. For the money, they are hard to beat.

if you go the Rattray’s route, Walmart.com has a pretty large selection of em surprisingly. I’ve been looking at the Brigham pipes as well and wondering about their quality for the newer pipes of late.

I love my Brigham. I paid ~$90 at a B&M for it and it smokes and looks wonderful. They go cheaper online, of course.

But if I had to make a recommendation, it'd of course be Savinelli. They're just great pipes.

yeah in my opinion the way factory made pipes are made would fall into the hand made category for most things.
