Standard low ball for whiskies and bourbons for me, though I do confess to using a jelly glass when sippin' a rye from time to time.
I think a jelly jar or better yet, small mason jar might be required for rye. I want to try some rye eventually. Maybe you can suggest something or a few?

High West has many pretty good rye whiskeys. Mid WInter Dram is an annual release that has had some inconstancy due to sourcing but this year was great. They are out of Park City Utah, it isn't the easiest to get your hands on either. I like WhistlePig. Both of these are on the higher end price spectrum at least in the states.

I wouldn't say that. Those cuts of meat look delicious. Those aren't from someone who isn't at least a little picky. Making my mouth water.
For some reason, in spite of rising meat prices, I found whole beef tenderloins for about half price. I’m honestly more of a ribeye man, but I can’t walk away from a good deal. I had just cut some steaks off of it when I took that picture.

Bulleit is not bad if you don’t want to spend much just to try it. Knob Creek, which is my regular bourbon, has a rye, but I’ve not tried it yet. I have faith it would be good though.

The two ounces of Woodford Reserve I had last night were delicious. Honey was the major note for me. I don't smoke inside. I don't want to bother my neighbors. It was too cold to sit outside for any length of time. Spring needs to assert herself permanently. I'm tired of the cold.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. I seem to break things way too fast let alone keeping a glass for that long!
This one has hit the kitchen floor a couple times, but is very strong. Hopefully I am not cursing it by bragging:rolleyes:
I use these

for Manhattans and have broken them.
I have always wanted a Glencairn, Something like this

really like the Edinburgh glasses in the post above!

Glencairn. Heat transfer isn’t an issue if you hold it by the base. Really worth it when you add a few drops of water and can really smell the whiskey open up.

I like them for bourbon, too, but I do have a shorter, a little more open version of the same glass from Kentucky Bourbon Trail, I think? Link below (they actually appear to be on quite the sale, I may grab some more). I prefer them for barrel proof stuff as it allows a little more of the nose to escape so I’m not runny-nosed trying to drink my bourbon.
