It’s a little odd for me that it is the left side because I do everything else right handed and what not. But that’s where it parks itself when I smoke. I clench a lot and mostly use my right hand to readjust and what not.

I very consciously move it around so as to not "overwork" one part of my mouth or lip. I really don't clench, so the stem is only in my mouth when I take a draw.

On that topic, I find it ungratifying to just take one puff and then remove the pipe. I would say my 'usual' is 2-3 long and slow consecutive puffs... but I digress.

Only feels natural on the left. But weirdly, I only smoke cigars on the right. So that is how I switch things up and maintain optimal oral health.

I switch it up often. Better for the tongue and get a slight variation in flavour with different mouth position.
