yeah, i tried moving the pipe around to avoid hot spot. but my teeth are sorta messed up on right side and the pipe doesn't rest well. now, i rarely get hot spot and i probably smoke a bowl a day. or two.

It really all depends on which hand you wipe with.
Mostly right, but I do try to 'walk' it from side to side during the smoke so as not to over-irritate a mouth spot.
I'm ambidextrous but right hand dominate. Pipe is always on the right side of my mouth. It just feels unnatural on the left side.
Agree with all the both sides, middle and move it around votes.
Mostly to the right I guess but I make a conscious effort to keep moving it around.

Hmm... I move the pipe around. I’ll try and pay more attention as I’m usually with my nose in my Kindle. I probably prefer a side but will need to try and take mental notes on it.

I move the pipe around, but I favor the left for some reason.
I voted left, because it is most comfortable on that side, but I move it all around every smoke, even when clenching.
When smoking it it’ll be which hand the pipe’s in (mostly left as a right hander)

I'm a south paw and smoke on the left.
I sometimes 'do it' dominant handed but I always feel like I have this little niggle as if I'm a bit unprepared for that 2nd impulse task that'll often crop up like lifting a drink, re-lighting, tamping, jot down a note, accept a handshake, draw & fire etc etc because I know I'd have to first switch the pipe over
Hadn't though about it till now but lighting the pipe with my non-dominant hand would be as alien has pulling up my zipper with the other hand!
Do i recall you posting that you also do/did cigars and ciggies? If so were you the same with them?
My cigarettes were always held in dominant hand although cigars can be either
(not sure there's any significance to any of this or if I'm just bored at work & thinking stupid thoughts ? )
When I relight, I have to switch the pipe to my left hand. It was a bit awkward when I first started smoking, but is now second nature.
