I smoke in the house. The reason I took up pipe smoking is that it has very little to no second hand smoke and doesn't leave the long term residual smell that cigars and cigs do. I use a rabbit air machine to help minimize the odor even more. I smoke 2-3 pipes a day in the house with no lingering odors. I do enjoy an outdoor smoke but only when the temp is 60-85 F. Yea I know I'm a pansy but I smoke to relax and temperature is an important part of that for me.

The majority of my smoking is done on my back patio.
That must be hell in summer where you live. It would even be a bit hellish where I live. The only time I smoke outside is on the rare occasions when our son, his wife and kids visit from out of state in deference to them. Then I smoke in my car in the drive way with windows down or cracked. Of course, heat or cold would then necessitate running the car in order to have heat or AC.

Where ever I want, I was here first, but yeah I couldn't imagine having to go somewhere special in my own house, or on my land or, sidewalks and streets my taxes pay for , when I get dirty looks or fake coughs I laugh way too loud, confrontational that way I guess, but I'm over this whole "secondhand smoke is bad for me" being yelled at me by a 300 lb lady drinking a diet soda while the diesel trucks drive by. These hypocrites and their pseudoscience or insane absurd narrative-driven priorities will not stop me from enjoying my pipe wherever I want, sorry for the rant but I'm old and I'm tired of the BS...

For me warmer times of the year im on my front porch enjoying the views. Lately ive been smoking in my car while at work because it has heat. I got an area in my garage that is heated and i got the go ahead to do what i want with that area so ill be turning that into my smoking parlor.
Now if my wife is away for the weekend im a bad boy and will smoke in the house but for that i try to smoke aros or virginias, nothing that smells too strong. She hasnt complained yet so im guessing she doesnt know. Lol

Pennsylvania & New York
In Pennsylvania, in the warmer weather, I'll smoke cigars on the side and front porch; on walks around the neighbourhood; occasionally in what will be my office upstairs with the window open. Pipes in various rooms year round.

In New York, I don't do too much smoking because all of my humidors and pipes are in Pennsylvania these days. I have some travel humidors and sometimes bring sticks to smoke outside. I'm considering curating a set of pipes to use in Brooklyn.

Back porch, but no heater.....yet.

The wife doesnt mind my smoking or the aroma, but after she got covid, she still has covid lung so I stay outside. Even if she wouldnt mind me smoking inside, I know she would get worried if we had company over, so I just stay in my lane and dont fuss about it.

Looking at some heaters to have for the colder months, but right now, I have not been smoking as much of my pipe as I usually would.

Winnipeg
I live in Winnipeg and I smoke outdoors year round. There's less wind on the river, where I take my dogs beginning New Years' Day. I also go to the woods in the winter months, for shelter. I'll smoke in a blizzard. I don't care. I never smoke in my house but now that there's a smoking club in Winnipeg, which just opened last summer, I might take refuge there on occasion.
